Like it's mad. I can kind of get how people can be like this in certain enclosed environments etc, even if it's not how I'd be. Be interested to hear who is for or against West Ham tonight. I find it increasingly difficult to support many English teams in Europe as success just puts them further out of reach, though I live watching City and they’re completely out of reach so I’ll be supporting them. As for the Hammers, not too bothered either way but on balance I would quite like to see them win.

I'd have been quite happy if West Ham had gone down, but playing against a continental team, I'd hope they win.
I think this is a rational point of view.
But then, I live in a country that loathes England because of what Oliver Cromwell did and the way the British government behaved in the potato famine, that if the Russians were playing England they'd wholeheartedly throw behind Russia, yet they'd spend hundreds each Saturday (matchday) flying over to the UK to support United, Liverpool or Celtic.
