I thought Isak looked pretty mediocre at the start of the season, but man has he come on in the last few months.

Looks like Smith's aim is to keep it at 0-0 for as long as possible. Some awful hoof it clear to anywhere play from Leicester.

Leicester somehow still level, dreadful tactics from Smith just simply trying to stay in the game and play launch ball doesn’t help when you’ve got Inneacho who looks about as motivated as me with a hangover.

Yep like they're playing against peak Barcelona or Man City rather than Sean Longstaff, Elliot Anderson and Newcastle.

No matter their attitude you simply don’t leave out your two biggest attacking threats.

Keep in 0-0, bring on the other two fresh and win the game. That’s clearly his plan, he’s met the first goal to give him a chance at executing the second. Whether it happens or not is seperate debate

It’s the sort of tactics I’d expect from San Marino playing England. Only reason Newcastle aren’t info is by luck not a tactical masterpiece.
Its Bizarre a draw suits Newcastle far better than Leicester.

87% possession for Newcastle. o_O

I’d be livid if I was a Leicester fan. If you are going to go down then at least show a willingness to give it a go.

I get Smith's mindset because their best hope of staying up is not to attack Newcastle and get gubbed, but try and scrape a point and then beat West Ham at home.

It still looks shit though and rarely works.

That would mean they are down if Everton beat Bournemouth. They need a win tonight.

I don't get it in his personal position.

- He got sacked by Villa, where he got more rope than he deserved due to taking them up and being a fan, because he looked way short of the mark at PL level
- He relegated Norwich by miles having had more than half a season to improve them then got sacked for being shit in the Championship
- He doesn't have a deal at Leicester in a week's time as it stands

Essentially if he ever wants a PL job or even be in the conversation for one again then he has to put on a good audition. He's won one - fortunately - and has set up shockingly here. And they're down if they lose.

He may as well have a go. Play this way if you're 1-0 up, fine.

If he’s think a draw here means Everton drawing sunday gives us a chance then he’s an idiot.

Seen those given, Youri.

Can't make heads or tails of him as a player lately.

Checked out months ago. Going on a free.

Lovely footballer but I don't know about his mentality, he's not one I'd like in the ranks when the chips are down.

No that’s never a handball
I don't disagree; ample evidence though that what we think is or isn't something means very little to the refs!

Exactly what I was getting at; we were mad to have missed out on him (assuming whatever links had been made were even true) but given this season I think it may have just about worked in our favor.

Nah, don't think we were ever in for him. Leicester had him on loan with a view to a permanent in January 2019, we'd only been a PL club for five months and they were far more established than us at the time (we probably didn't have the financial headroom either with converting all our loans to permanent and all the other summer 2018 business).
