Why are you so tuned in on Spanish football? That's not a criticism by the way just interested if you have Spanish heritage, family, have lived there or something else?

My biggest doubt fwiw is the way it's ending and walking into another job straight away

Lived there for a few years, technically emigrated really, and worked for a Spanish company in Madrid. Had always had a passing interest in Spanish football before and just followed it more from then. My wife did the same, so the result is lots of friends over there that we see quite a lot of, mainly in Valencia and Madrid, some in Sevilla too.

I definitely understand why Spanish football isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I guess it’s just my thing

I haven’t watched the game but I’ve looked at the lineup and the back 4 is Jesus Navas, two 20 year old CBs and Alex Telles. Not sure that’s the quality you need in the CL against Dortmund

They almost beat city at city. Alex Telles is a deluxe (generous) Barry Douglas, Jesus Navas a shit Ashley Young. I know nothing about the CBs but there’s not many (any) CBs playing at the top level at 20, particularly not helped with the FBs outside them

How many 17, 19 and 20 year olds are doing their thing at the top too? Not like Brandt is a superstar balancing it out either.

I don't think either side is littered with quality and the situation around Lopetegui is obviously going to have an effect for Sevilla but the excuses you're making for them largely apply to their opponents too.

You not stupid enough to think playing inexperience up front is the same as playing at the back.

The Sevilla CBs in question have zero international recognition. Bellingham is a generational talent, Adeyemi a full German international and very successful career to date at a young age. Moukoko I’d never heard of but he’s been playing first team football for 3 seasons!?
