Live Match Discussion 2017/18

We should, our cup side almost beat the best team in the world earlier this season.

We certainly ran them close, and I believe that Wolves are still the only team that Manchester City have not scored against this season.

Gundogan is bloody brilliant - you can see why Pep was prepared to take the risk on his fitness.

great to see Foden and Adarabioyo playing. Foden again looking lively. If he could gradually get himself more minutes and be trusted more often (Pep loves him) I would honestly have him on the plane to russia.

How much did Leicester pay for Iheanacho again?

They paid £30 million for Slimani as well didn't they?

Musa and Slimani had least been successful previously. Slimani especially was absolutely unplayable his last season with Sporting CP. Iheanacho had 6 goals in 30 odd senior appearances.

21 in 64 for City.

Musa doesn't even look like a footballer.

That's the problem with most sides these days, spend money on absolute dross or players that don't suit them.

Indeed. Leicester's post-title investment needed to be elsewhere. Instead they bought players who ostensibly would have replaced Okazaki and Vardy, which was just patently never going to come off well.

Yeah, you really shouldn't win the league out of nowhere, get a year's CL exposure and money and yet two years later you're still starting Danny Simpson and Wes Morgan every week, with Marc Albrighton and Andy King also featuring regularly.

City team tonight weaker than the one they played against us at home. Yet they are still winning away from home against a mid table PL side

There's only really Foden and Diaz that are any different from our game, and they'd both have played against us if they'd been available.

Diaz is a proper player, too.

Zinchenko is clearly not a defender, wasn't one against us and isn't one today. Don't know why Pep keeps putting him there.

Yeah but Sterling and Aguero are massive upgrades on them. It would be like us playing MGW and Hause instead of Boly and Neves and saying our team is just as strong
