I imagine they will be installed as favourites for promotion.

I am not so sure. Almost certainly top three favourites because a load of Geordies will lump on. However, if Benitez goes I think their squad will be gutted.

Think Ashley will just stump up the cash to keep it all together again, can't see too many of their players attracting the level of attention to drag them away if he's willing to cover the finances.

That will be the key. There will be more interest in their decent players than the dross at Villa but Ashley could just stump the cash up.

You've got some fairly big profiles there with the likes of Wijnaldum and Mitrovic but they haven't really had good enough seasons to draw that much interest, as you'd expect with them getting relegated, you'll perhaps get some trying their luck with some lowish bids because of the relegation but if Ashley is happy to take the hit to his wallet as he did last time then I don't think there will be many prised away.

A Plymouth Argyle player clearly put his head into the back of a Portsmouth players head, and probably should have been sent ff, but then Cook lost the plot n every possible way.

Plymouth should probably have had 3 players sent off against Portsmouth - the head butt (not hard but still a head butt) that cooky went mad about, the guy who gave the penalty away was clearly the last man with no cover, and a tackle that got a booking was late and dangerous.

Would love to hear the refs thinking.
