Playing Delph wide left seems spectacularly odd to me.

They seem to be in a bit of a weird lopsided 433.

Delph quite wide on the left alongside Toure and Fernandinho, then De Bruyne shoved over to the right further up alongside Aguero and Silva.

Surprised Arsenal haven't gone at them a bit more early on considering some of the defensive troubles they've been having.

Lots of niggly little cynical fouls from City so far, seems they've taken a bit of a 90's Juventus approach to dealing with their ricketty defence.

Could open up a bit now.

De Bruyne just drags one wide of the far post and no sooner had they finished the replay you had Walcott sticking one in up the other end, lovely finish.

Cracking strike.

Don't think KdB could have squared it for Silva, had to go for it but should have at least worked Cech.

Ozil is just wonderful. Give him movement off the ball and there is nobody better to provide the ammunition.

Not sure why Silva was complaining, he never really got in a position to make the pass available, could say good defending from Mertesacker to keep himself in the way of that pass.

Excellent finish from Walcott though.

It's good to see him back to his best after a disappointing season

Yeah, Mertesacker did really well to close that angle down considering the amount of space he had to cover between Silva, De Bruyne and the goal. Silva should've been doing more with his run to keep the pass alive, just kept steaming in towards goal when he could've done anything at that point with Mertesacker looking the other way.

Think it was always going to be a struggle to get one on target from that angle with his right foot, went with his instep for accuracy and so it was always going to move away from the target.

Slight question mark on City's defending on the goal. Walcott was in quite an odd position, should have been offside but wasn't, then Sagna needs to be tighter. Not quite Janmaat vs Ayew levels of negligence but too easy to get the shot off.

Thought he'd fucked that one with a ball like that for Giroud, had the legs on Otamendi though and another lovely finish, through Hart's legs this time.

I don't think Giroud should be scoring from there whether it goes through Hart's legs or not. Excellent weight of pass again from Ozil. All came from Mangala though who played a shocking pass into Fernandinho.

You've got to pin that one 99% on Mangala to be fair.

When you've conceded posession that area of the pitch so cheaply then the rest is just a firefighting job, Hart could probably have done a better job of digging him out the shit but he didn't look like he anticipated the early shot from Giroud and it was past him long before he moved.

Nearly £40m he cost. Shambles. Good job France have Varane, imagine your centre halves of the future being Mangala and Sakho.

Mangala is a proper weirdo. He was absolutely imperious at the start of the season and played well at the back end of last season. He seems to need somebody in his ear all the time or he turns into an absolute state.
