Very good reffing from Clatenburg on that one. The challenge was one that usually has the refs running in with the red card out. He took his time, spoke with his Assistant and then made his decision.

Indeed. The referee gave himself a bit of thinking time, then spoke to his assistant, and then gave Kompany the benefit of the doubt. It was certainly a poor challenge, and he could have had no complaints if the red card had been shown.

Certainly could have been and some ref's would have issued a red but thats how a decision should be made. Whenever a ref rushes in thats when they make mistakes (2 great examples of that at Molineux this season)
