LIVE! Match discussion 2014/15

They shouldn't have really, the appointment after Stevens was a shambles though and now he's come back he has too much to do.

I'd bet some of the mid/low Prem teams this summer will be licking their lips at the prospect of the likes of Ruediger, Maxim, Harnik, and Gentner. Likewise Werner, Ibisevic, Serey Die, Didavi, Ginczek... Hell, there's barely a name on the roster that probably wouldn't attract interest from someone in a higher league than 2.Liga.

Real opportunity missed here by Burnley could easily have got something out of this.

Another unpunished elbow by Craig Dawson today, smashed Nugent's lip. That's four now, today, Speroni (forced him off injured), goal at Burnley and breaking Walters' cheekbone, plus the one he did get punished for at City (but McAuley got the red card). He is absolute filth. As bad as Michael Brown or Ben Thatcher but he seems to go under the radar. Watch him next time Albion are on TV, he leads with the elbow every time, it's awful.

Thug of a player but apparently the one he did on Speroni was perfectly fine according to WM and Paul Franks.
Albion really are a poor side, they'll survive but only just.
Could be a turbulent summer for them with Peace wanting out.

Losing Foster has cost Albion big time. Myhill is nowhere near a Premier League keeper.

QPR have started well against Chelsea, anyone know why John Terry is getting so much abuse (aside from the obvious)

The Anton Ferdinand incident presumably.

I don't think I've seen a good performance from Chelsea this side of Christmas, just grinding things out.

Yep, really pedestrian for a while (I suppose Swansea away when they were 4-0 up in no time would be the exception). I still think they need a fair bit of work to be Champions League contenders, Willian, Ramires and Drogba have no business being near a top level team, same with squad players like Mikel. Still think it was a mistake to let Schürrle go.

Same with Salah too really, while neither were that great they at least gave them an alternative option for the 3 behind the forward. Either would be more threatening than William, Oscar just seems to have no impact on games anymore and Ramires is now the first alternative.

Salah has been superb for Fiorentina, they've already sorted out another loan for next year - you'd think Chelsea would have looked at how well he's done and given him another go. Cuadrado has had no impact so far, tough though when he's only getting 10 minutes here and there. I get the legwork and defensive stuff that Willian does but his output for an attacking player in a team like this is pathetic really.

Salah's been bought by Fiorentina I think.

Ramires is a joke.

Willian is such a nothing player, decent touch and plenty workrate but that's about it. No real invention to his play or anything, just a body. Even on a bad day at least some like Schurrle would give defenders something to think about with raw pace, Willian can't even rely on that.

Suppose you can throw De Bruyne in there too, how much more threatening would they have looked with him and Salah/Schurrle in place of Ramires and Willian.

They'd be well set to replicate Mourinho's Inter setup with that line up, solid back four with the 2 deep midfielders in front allowing your front four to take more of a gamble. Instead he just seems to have made the whole team ridiculously turgid and overly disciplined.

Shite from Green. Their own fault.

Did Green even want to save that? The dive was as weak as his clearance.

Didn't look a great attempt at saving it.
