Really i thought r.taylor was doing that..apols..but play colback at left back must be the same as playing sterling as wingback..he has so much offensive qualities
They've got bad injuries at the moment as well, plus Coloccini and Cisse being banned for their own stupidity, and Ashley's policy of slashing the squad numbers to an absolute minimum in January so long as it looks like they're safe for another year is coming home to roost.
It must be a truly depressing experience to be a Newcastle fan under his stewardship, absolutely no ambition beyond just about staying in the top flight and making sure Sports Direct's brand exposure remains as high as possible. Don't get attached to anyone who turns out to be half decent because they'll get sold. Watch every season fizzle out before the Christmas decorations have come down. Just horrible.
Even if they bring in someone like Garde, Tuchel or Gourvennec who would seem to be progressive appointments (I'd rather have Terry Connor than John Carver, seriously) they're always going to be hampered from above.
Taylor is naturally right sided, he can fill in on the left but he has played most of his football either at right back or on the right of midfield. Simpson left two or three years ago, Janmaat is normally the right back but he's having to fill in at centre half as Coloccini got himself sent off at Everton, they sold Yanga-Mbiwa and Steven Taylor is out for the season.
Still can't believe Mapou flopped so hard in England. He was exceptional in Montpellier's title season. Being played at left back surely didn't help but still.
Couldnt colback be a target for bigger clubs in the prem..guess he has a long contract now when switching from sunlun..he really has some nice qualities, just play for a shit team atm
