LIVE! Match discussion 2014/15

Dunno, I thought it was offside on first viewing but Rooney has clearly gotten out of the way of the ball.

It was either Clough or Shankly (possibly both) that said ""If a player is not interfering with play then he shouldn't be on the pitch."

I always feel like the interfering with play rule is too vague anyway.

You don't know that in the split second to react

If you are too busy watching the player you won't be able to react. Unfortunately the rule of offside is a shit for keepers these days.

Davies very lucky not to be walking there.

Dowd doing a Halsey there. Doesn't matter if he's already on a yellow.

What "rules" is he on about? Does he mean "The Laws Of The Game"?
It doesn't matter if he touches it, Rooney is in the line of the keeper and "dummies" out of the way to allow the ball past himself

He's a moron. It's quite clearly offside in any laws of the game, he's affected the keeper and so is offside. He obviously can't see either if he thinks that free kick touch the wall.

That's got to be a red card!!! You can't just jump into a challenge like that, it's a booking every day of the week.

That was Clough

Davies should have seen red there..lucky

The fact that he has to get out of the way though means he's interfered with play.

He isn't in line though is he. Watch it, he is too the side and his movement is to allow for the bending ball. At no point does he get in the way of the keeper (unless you class he keeper doing an unnatural forward/side dive as an option). He should be classed as offside but the rules say otherwise

2-1 Utd now

Fuck off Fellaini you push the defender

Fellaini in shoving the defender shocker.

Foul by Fellaini or defender too worried about him rather than the ball?

You can't play for the foul and hope the ref blows. Poor defending for me, probably is a foul but why even take the risk of him not giving it.

Kenny. He gains a clear advantage from his position on the pitch...if I was officiating it, I would of definitely given offside

Yeah i thought foul at first then looking at it closer he doesn't really try to go for the ball. Still a foul though imo.

and Frank would mark you down for it...

I agree with you BTW but the Offside rule and interfering is a load of bollocks and by the book the ref had to give the goal
