It's Invalidity Benefit/Incapacity Benefit all over again.
A long term conservative government is undoubtedly bad for the health of a nation.
In the 1980's, as part of the ideology to break miners and other manual industries, hundreds of thousands of people were abandoned, and shunted on to health related benefits, owing to their health meaning they were unable to work, as a result of several years of conservative policy.
Now, in 2022, after 12 years of austerity and more horrendous tory policies, which we know have caused hundreds of thousands of preventable early deaths, we also have record numbers of people too ill to be able to work.
Like in the 1980's this massages the jobless figures (out this week) and as less people are classed as unemployed, then the conservatives crow about what a good job they're doing bringing unemployment down. All they are really doing is making thousands unable to work, and are therefore are excluded from the figures. All this without examining the quality of the jobs, or the security of the work or wages, or without exploring the additional reliance on other benefits.
So what is with the claim of conservatives getting britain working (yet countless conservatives are on record as saying you, I, others etc) are lazy and feckless etc etc.
It's pretty categorical that a conservative government have a negative impact on the health of the nation, and are negative for the wellbeing of millions of people.
