This feels very childish but it did make me laugh out loud
If the Tory conference wasn't ludicrous enough already, Braverman has just done a speech which Goebbels would have thought was a bit OTT, and she then proceeded to stand on a dog.
They've been on that road for years. Get asked a searching question and a stock answer is "I don't think the public are interested in X".It’s quite scary that the Tories actually think the British public will buy all of this shit they’re coming out with. Presumably they’ve done some research and genuinely believe that their policies are populist rather than simply being the product of a far right brainstorming session.
Are a majority of those folk not politically engaged really going to buy into the idea that Labour are woke about everything and that is awful? Surely most will listen to the narrative and just think “hmmm, you’ve been in power 13 years, fuck off with this bollocks”.
Many will, if they have been Tories in the past or are Tories now, these "policies" will feed their confirmation bias and they'll swallow it whole. It’s quite scary that the Tories actually think the British public will buy all of this shit they’re coming out with.
The Tory kicked out had 2 security guards and a policeman march him of the conference. Didn't shout or heckle was just him speaking at a normal volume that I doubt was any louder than the snoring (always a pic of some older folk having a nap at these things)
Fair play to Ridge there, she's absolutely fucking mullered herMeat tax? - well they could propose it? They'll be saying that Labour will bring back the baby eating bishop of Bath and Wells next.
Net Zero minister grilled on 'meat tax' joke in speech
Speaking on the Politics Hub with Sophy Ridge, Claire Coutinho said references to a "meat tax" in her speech at the Conservative Party conference were "a light moment" with a "very serious point".news.sky.com
I incorrectly thought that this meant that the line would continue but be a cheaper version and at least give additional capacity .
