There's a huge growth in analytics lately but a) people are still working out the best way to measure and evaluate things and b) there's so many different people doing different things!

Liverpool, for a prime example, great team playing shite, even Sheffield united, who were better than that by far last season, and a little further afield Celtic.
Let us not forget, we finished our season late.
We had about two weeks holiday for the players before training resumed.
No sooner had we started trading we had some Micky mouse Euro bollocks that took most of our top players away for two weeks or more.
We have had a shit load of serious injuries to first team players.
There are no fans in a ground that had become a hell of a place to go for visiting teams.
Nuno hasn't seen his family for eons.
The players are stuck at home, (like the rest of us) apart from being let out to train.
They are foreigners in a strange land, and their socialising amongst themselves has to be a big part of their acclimatisation.
This is the shittiest time to be playing footie ever, for fans,players and coaches alike nothing that is happening is anywhere near normal.
We have lost games that we were clearly well on top in, and yes won one or two we were well beaten in.
So.. My question to you is simple, if you are not, as I called you previously, a person who once they thought they were wrong but were only mistaken, how? when you take all the above truths into consideration, and I am guessing your limited years as a wolves supporter, can you be sooooo adamant that Nuno is wrong for wolves, that he should go, and that the bulk of the forum should bow to your greater knowledge or perhaps your persistence in spouting off how right you are when every opinion that disagrees with you is proferred by a know nothing emotional twat.
Take a look at yourself in the mirror sir, and above all read some of your own posts before you press post reply.
A discussion as this forum is, is about discussing different opinions not about who can type 24 hours a day .

Like i was saying, there is so much more to it than just Nuno's coaching/management skills. Good post.

I did not know which thread to put this on as similar conversations are happening in different areas that are all talking about Nuno and team performance. So I will stick my two-penneth here.
For two seasons just about, the team has pretty much picked itself. There are probably 8 names there week in week out, and that does not include Jota who had his time on the bench.
Of those 8 Doherty has been sold , Raul and Jonny are injured, long term.
Coady, Boly, Neves ,Moutinho and Patricio are the other 5 names and none of them have been in similar form this season to last. Boly has been much improved in the last two games, agreed. Traore and Dendonker have not hit last season's heights at all. With regard to the he signings , Semedo is ok but hasn't scored Marcal is the new sick-note and Fabio Silva looks two years away from a premier League player. Add to all this a desire to change what we had been familiar with , three at the back and it has clearly resulted in us tanking it since November.
Nuno has some hard decisions. Those players who were his trusted 5 are now making him vulnerable as they are not performing. He has to make changes and probably leave out three or four of his lieutenants , however hard it may be. They are no longer auto picks as they are not performing at the moment.
Dropping them also rewards those squad players who have worked hard , trained hard, been loyal and not seen first team action . Otasowie, Ruddy are the main two but Vitanha must be due a run. Personally, I am pleased we have two tough games coming up. It is time for the players to step up for Nuno. He has backed them loyally for three years and they must do the same.
For me it is pointless changing the manager on the last day or so of a window. Nuno has this season to turn it around, just like Villa have so far in comparison to last season .

More good points. Dean Smith literally saved Villa on the last game of the season. I remember seeing posts on SM calling for his head all season long. Got to give Nuno the same sort of chance surely.

Teams gamble. That's where they get their apparent luck from.

We've stopped gambling whether that's playing a forward pass, making a run, shooting from distance.

Rashford took on a shot and got a deflection, Eze/Murphy gambled and Rui was at fault, McGinns run was rewarded with a gift from Somedo.

Spineless is a big big word but the mere notion of it I find incredible when you think about how part of this team reacted away at Middlesbrough or after Wembley etc etc. The team used to ooze resilience in the face of adversity.

I do think that we don't make our own luck. By that I mean, if you defend deep late in a game and allow the opposition to have the ball in and around your own penalty box then, with VAR any contact is going to get looked at. We have given 7 penalties this season, the divisions joint worst. We also don't get many penalties as we don't attack centrally with enough men so are not in possession in the opposing penalty box to draw a foul. It's naivety at both ends for me in these days of VAR.
