I don’t buy the Nuno rumours but I also didn’t buy the Doherty and Jota rumours in the summer so what do I know!

Injuries haven’t helped, COVID hasn’t helped and the phoney surroundings of each game haven’t helped us. The last 2 excuses aren’t going to save you plus a lot of players are returning from injury. COVID is affecting a lot of people to not just our side.
Fosun will probably view that in December and early jan we were riddled with injuries so may give him the benefit of the doubt but will view that now he’s got players back an reinforcement things need to improve.
You can also argue fine margins and we don’t generally get battered and are in most games until the end.
But it’s results and nothing else that count.

I’d agree on some of the transfer business IMO to much emphasis on the future and not enough on improving the here & now.

Maybe we should have a thread "Let's talk about the players" Belief and confidence. 2 things that make a huge difference to your mental state. For 3 seasons the players went into games believing they could win every one of them, and wouldn't give up till the final whistle in everyone of them. Belief and confidence give you that. This season i bet every game they go into they think they can lose, and as you have watched lots this season they ship a goal and the heads drop. They certainly are not playing with any belief or confidence right now. That has to change asap.

I think a win in the next two home games buys him a huge amount of time. Even two draws will keep him afloat.
My view is if we can get into a position where it’s clear we’re not getting dragged into a relegation battle I’d be very keen to see him start next season in charge after he’s had a rest, seen his family and fans back in the ground.

I have to admit I get too attached to players and coaches, especially when they've been as good as this lot, I know its ridiculous but there you are.
Trying to be pragmatic about it, probably any other coach/club would be closr to parting ways atm but Fosun are a massive money making concern and won't to waste any. It would cost a fortune to change coaches now, payoffs, cost of new coach/backroom staff and of course any coach coming in worth having will want a massive war chest......think we have to give Nuno to the end of the season at least.........and like I say I'm in love the guy

Depends if at any point they believe we are in serious danger of going down. Relegation will cost a lot more and we'd need one hell of a rebuild as there's not many of the squad that'll be around for that.

I don't think we are there yet and don't think we will be, but if Fosun get to that stage there won't be loyalty to Nuno even if the 'what's next' is unknown/Marco Silva

I love Nuno too, but as much as I'm sympathetic, I'm disappointed in equal measure.

He's only human, but the mettle of an excellent manager is also measured in how they react to adversity and change.

Other (most?) teams have struggled with no fans, and have also had injuries (and this is the first time Nuno's really had to deal with the latter in nearly 4 years).

We can sugar coat it all we want, but removing sentiment, Nuno currently looks to have cocked up our evolution and be flailing badly in a scenario where you want a leader to step up and give direction. Anyone can lead when things are going swimmingly. It's not pleasant to be saying these things, btw.

Saying it's a black mark against him isn't the same as saying 'Nuno Out'
