I must say that, in the main, this thread has been a very good read.
When I saw it yesterday I was a little worried that it could be seen or could have been set as an attack on Wolves and Nuno in particular. It's quite refreshing that the majority of the posters have been able to put forward some very good points.
For me, I do think that this season and the way it has gone has been a culmination of a number of factors. The extended last season, the decisions to sell two players who have been major contributors since our return to the Premier League, an attempt to freshen up how we play so that we aren't as predictable and, of course, the Covid situation.
EDIT; and, of course, the injuries...
Despite all of the above we are still in a decent position away from the relegation fight and are blooding a LOT of young players. It has been a clear strategy by the club to sign young, gifted players with a target of development and improvement looking at the long term. This must have also been driven by Nuno but we have found ourselves faced with a number of injuries. Because of this a lot of the young players are having to (try to) prove themselves ahead of schedule and it hasn't always worked so far, be this because of a change of system to suit them, bedding into the system or lack of experience
Would I like us to bring in some experience to help this young squad? Yes...
Do I think it is as easy to do as some have suggested? No...
Can we get back on track with the plan that Fosun set out when they bought us? I bloody hope so!
I do worry a little about Nuno and I hope he can get himself and us through what is clearly a difficult time in his management but again, I believe he can and will.
Call me a "happy clapper" if you like, it's just the way I'm wired. My glass is always half full and I always look for the positives in every situation but that doesn't mean that I can't see that we need to get back into our groove as quickly as possible
