Keir Starmer at it again..

Update within that to say the founder of the company wasn't speaking against the regulation for BNPL companies but was backing it.

Meh, keep it - it’s a good measure to use for ignoring people who share it.

Lax security at the beginning of the Starmer speech.

He really should delete the initial tweet given the traction it's getting

The same people will just keep putting the word 'Labour' into Twitter and finding things to be disappointed/outraged about anyway

The people who want to believe it will anyway, regardless of any follow-up.

Can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Know I'm out of my lane but we've seen this sort of thing play out so often with Trump and his ilk.

I do genuinely try to read your posts but for those of us with shit eyesight your new small font habit doesn’t help.

So the only real policy announcements were building 1.5m homes and using non-dom tax to fund the NHS.

1.5m new council homes would be awesome. Money raised from non-dom tax is about 3bn which is nowhere near what the NHS requires.

Edit: not council homes after all. Sake. Might've guessed.😅

It was a speech that I think achieves the aims of…

Winning seats in the Midlands and the North by attracting 2019 Tory voters and Lib Dem tactical voters
Can’t be challenged by Tories without them saying they wouldn’t do these things
Appealling broadly to middle income England

It isn’t radical or particularly optimistic but he has given a fairly clear message about what his party would do. It ticks all the boxes and he came across quite well. He won’t win over the never Kiers or never Labour but hasn’t done any harm to the anyone but Tory voters…including Scotland and Wales.

As a lifelong long Labour supporter I’m just glad to have seen the back of Jeremy Corbyn and Momentum.
Hopefully this time next year or maybe earlier I’ll be feeling like i felt in April 1997.
