Keir Starmer at it again..

It's a legal requirement to have a daily act of collective worship according to the Dfe. It may be that some schools can't be arsed to follow it.
They circumvent it by doing things like saying grace before going to lunch, or having a class prayer at the end of the day before going home and shit like that.

That is surely only for religious schools though.

There are so many academies now.

Nice to see that Starmer has condemned the Palestinians who have been fighting back in Gaza in the face of weeks of attacks by Israeli settlers and the IDF. Dozens of innocent Palestinians have been killed, including many children. But you know don't condemn the Israeli government because that's... Well you know what that is. Israel is a brutal, vicious, right wing regime and if I'm seen as anti-Semitic for saying that, I'll live with it.

Ha ha, i was one of the catholics who had to go to another room, and just went in for the last bit, could have cleaned me gnashers then i suppose😁

So 3,500 rockets (500 at Tel Aviv) at least 250 people dead and a 1000 injured, should not be condemned ?

Of course. But where is the condemnation of Israel? I will fully condemn the Palestinians when Starmer, or any other member of any political party condemn Israel for the atrocities they commit on a daily basis. I won't hold my breath.

How unsurprising that this thread brushes (no pun intended) over underprivileged UK children as quickly as possible to obsess about Israel-Palestine for the millionth time

Give us a list of things we're allowed to discuss please.

Where did I say you couldn't discuss it?

I was just highlighting the obvious and predictable obsessions of your particular part of the political spectrum, and how much more importance is placed on them than other concerns

You'd clearly like us to prioritise. Sorry if the Palestinian Israel conflict isn't important enough. Maybe give us an ordered list of the things we should be most concerned about.

Discuss whatever you want comrade, like I said I'm highlighting not censoring. But this thread is about Labour and Starmer isn't it?

Socialism has always had some element of internationalism. But maybe if Corbyn, who probably never had a day of want in his comfy middle class life, and his remaining Corbynites prioritised issues that directly affect the daily lives of UK working class people, the traditional Labour vote wouldn't have been almost wiped out in 2019, and that void filled by opportunist right wing grifters.

Newsflash: most people who are struggling in this country right now don't have the time and luxury of obsessing over far left hobby horses

The initial comment was about something said by Labour/Starmer on a thread about Labour/Starmer.

Methinks you were being a WUM.

And I was highlighting how one subject (Israel) inflames interest and and the other (underprivileged UK kids) is quickly dismissed and essentially laughed at (see TP's dismissive response to struggling UK families just above).

Labour/Starmer can do nothing right in either scenario because they don't have the political obsessions of middle class sixth formers.

What's that got to do with WUMming?

You think the invasion of Ukraine doesn't affect you?
