Jeremy Corbyn

Shouldn't MP's be representing their constituents based on the platform on which they were elected, which in the case of all bar one of Labour's was the 2015 manifesto?

Because the politics of Corbyn are so different from those of that manifesto it seems to me that many are caught between two stools. As for the Shadow Cabinet supporting all of Corbyn's key policies are there 30 odd members of the PLP that share his views?

What utter bollocks. That seems to have been written by a 12 year old in full finger pointing 'it was him' mode. It's this sort of nonsense that does the Labour Party no favours.

Quite, I'll leave it John Mann a fine Labour MP who'll never be in the Politburo, 'Pathetic attack, reminiscent of the Tory right and UKIP, if in doubt blame the BBC'.

Pat McFadden is not a $#@!, he represents Labour voters such as myself who are not members, not activists, support the retention of Trident and support the bombing of Isis in Syria but find themselves being ostracised by the 'Corbynista's'.
I never said he was one, but I very much doubt that he was sacked simply for being a "blairite".

According to the press that makes Mussolini look centrist, it's because he disagreed with Comrade Livingston. A man so deplorable and physically unpleasant he makes Mandleson tolerable.

I presume Corbyn's Twitter account has been hacked as his last tweet goes

Here we... here we... here we fucking go!!!

Followed up with

davey cameron is a pie

fuck Trident

All gone now. Must say whoever did the hacking didn't use the opportunity well at all.

Why does Corbyn think the UK and Argentina should discuss the future of the Falklands?

Why does Corbyn think the UK and Argentina should discuss the future of the Falklands?

Maybe because the UN would like us to move on from where we are at the moment and actually reach agreement between the three parties.

As it stands Argentina still lay claim to the islands, I for one would be happy for the UK to sit down with them, listen to their arguments and then calmly explain to them why they are wrong and that the only way for the Falklands to ever become Argentinian territory again would be by referendum of it's inhabitants.

I doubt that Argentina would listen but at least we could say to the global community that we're trying to find a common ground whilst Argentina is being totally uncooperative.

Another good council by election result for Labour in the North West, with a substantial % gain.

Bloomfield, Blackpool.

Labour 57.6%
Con 19.2%
UKIP 15.1%

Labour up near 13%.
UKIP down 10%.

I will wait to be corrected but I think Corbyn's problem is going to be that in safe Labour areas the Labour vote will go up - partially because he will appeal to people previusly disengaged with politics and also due to the soon to be redundant UKIP party losing votes and the indications are that Labour lost quite a few to UKIP in the last few years on single issues. Those who went to UKIP based on their immigration messages are not likely to be seduced by Corbyn but those who wanted an EU referendum may well come back.

Corbyn is not going to make sufficient in roads into Scotland and most of the South (except London)

Never really thought about it like that. The upcoming referendum actually leaves UKIP slightly redundant.

Is a UKIP voter traditionally left or right leaning?

Neither - they attract both because they don't actually have any policies. They regularly come out with stuff that is populist from both left and right wing perspective but that is all they are, populist attention seekers. That said, without UKIP I really don't think there would have been a referendum so in some respects that have been stunningly successful.

I read their manifesto and the policies were varied (some of which I quite liked).

The moot point being as to whether the purples are reflecting on what earned UKIP quite a few votes.

I do hear what you are saying but it would be wrong for Lab/Con to make mass assumptions and sweep UKIP to the side as irrelevant.
