Jeremy Corbyn

This annoys me.

1) The Guardian running with it

2) Quoteless, unnamed source crap. Already. Really?

3) The bit at the end. 'The Shadow Chancellor should absolutely have been a woman'. Really? Tokenism is the way forward now? Silly me I suppose for not recognising the legions of genius female economists in the Parliamentary Labour Party.

I would still argue that inclusive centricism is the only way Labour can win an election which is what Blair brought. I admire those that want a Labour Party that is true to itself, but I'd rather have Tory Lite than the full blown version

I am pleased to see a real opposite view point in opposition and give voters a real choice even if its one that the majority do not want. This govt remember only got 34% of the votes so 66% dont want them in.

I thought it was 37% ?

It was 36.9%. By way comparison the landslides for thatcher in 1983 and Blair in 1997 were both around 43%. No party in living memory has got over 50% of the vote.

It will be interesting how Labour now try and spread their message to the masses while facing added vitriolic abuse from the Tory media. I dont think social media reaches enough people.

The Sun is clearly mounting a very unsubtle smear campaign. Already.

However, the story run by the Guardian and the fact the shadow cabinet re-shuffle didn't make it beyond page 4 of the Mirror suggest that the more left-leaning titles aren't quite sure where to go with Corbyn as Labour leader yet.

I doubt Corbyn will speak to The Sun and he must have doubts whether to bother with The Daily Mail.

Or indeed the Express.

He needs, if not active support, then a more understanding narrative from titles such as the Independent. There is little point expecting the Telegraph to be sympathetic, or probably the Times. He REALLY needs the Mirror and Guardian onside as soon as possible.

I can see much of the Tory press offering previous Labour front bencher's top money to write columns in the near future. Trying to divide and conquer.

Just have to hope the BBC can carry on with it's 'unbiased' coverage.

Yes if they back him, their circulation figures should rocket, with all the support he's got. not.

You are aware he got a rather large mandate among those papers target readership?

A large mandate from a small readership. What's not to like? Good luck to him.

Only that's not true, the Guardian is the 2nd most popular paper online with nearly 9m unique users. The Mail is the most read with over 10m users. Nobody else really comes close to these 2.

Plus the Mirror still gets almost a million circulation in dead tree format.

I'm sure most of the Mail online readership is women reading gossip and looking at pictures of celebs. /stereotyping

Online includes visitors who have arrived via social media though doesn't it?
As I say good luck to Corbyn anyway.
