Jeremy Corbyn

I was only 16 when he first came to power so my understanding of politics wasn't really fully formed at that stage, I knew that fundamentally I was more red than blue (not an upbringing thing - my Dad voted Thatcher right the way through her time and I'm pretty sure he voted Major twice as well). So from my point of view, there wasn't anything to "betray" as such. By the time 2001 came around and I was a young adult I found myself fairly satisfied with the work the government had done so my first ever GE vote went to Blair.

Blair promised so much and delivered in Term One...However I think the power and the "glory" went to head and he started to think he was untouchable. I can never forgive him for that

It wasn't power it was the seduction of being seen as a player on the world stage and poodling up to Bush that was the issue, ending ultimately in following him into a dodgy/illegal invasion of Iraq

I find it interesting the way the Labour Party are now trying to dismiss the Blair years in much the same way the Conservatives did with Thatcher.

He is certainly the most left wing leader for the last twenty odd years. I doubt that he is the most left wing party leader of all time though as we have to take into account the historical (or should that be hysterical?) and social context at any given time.

A Labour leader who stands up for workers rights and for the poor, weak and disabled, has to be a good thing if you are a socialist.

Surely standing up for the disadvantaged is always a good thing, even if you're a 'kipper

Apart from your obvious sniping, Dennis Skinner is a politician who has integrity.

He's an idiot. If he can stop buggering about with the snp about which seat he gets to sit in, I hope he gets a prominent place in the shadow cabinet, so jezza can add another old has been to the entertainment to come!

Can't wait either.
