Jeremy Corbyn

There is nothing defamatory whatsoever in the quoted text. Nothing whatsoever.

There is a small possibility that copyright could be slightly infringed by pasting the words that are not part of direct quotations by Len McCluskey or the other Unite candidate. You could just about string a little bit of a case along if a sentence framing those quotes were so utterly distinctive it was worthy of its own IP. However if you think the BBC are going to look on here to that level you are almost certainly wrong. Saying that, we would be completely ironclad if people didn't C&P but you do sort of have to be realistic about that too.

On the flipside the Sheffield Star once lifted one of my made up rumours about Leon on Vital Football, word for word :icon_lol: I'm not sure which was worse, them not picking up on what obvious nonsense it was or an actual newspaper directly C&Ping from a two bob website.

To save any more argument I have deleted the post.

Why? Seems to be a lot made out of your post. As the news was a week or so old, I knew where the quotes were from ( I saw them on the Sky News app)

If you were going to edit it maybe put in "got this from the BBC" or wherever you did. Now it just comes across as your post is being removed and denying you your right to post. I would ask you put it back on, it may not get talked about or people may defend what was said but to have to remove it is a bit shit IMO.

Made worse that they did that after a gave the article the headline "Fat Boy returns" or something like that

I certainly wasn't asking for it to be deleted, but having not seen it myself I didn't know whether it came from the BBC or some fake website based in Macedonia.

What has made me a little sad is that had I posted something criticising the Prime Minister on the anti Conservative thread, then not a word would have been said against it, and the vast majority on here would have been in total agreement.

To be fair if you did that most on here would fall over in shock and be unable to reply.....

Grow up.

I have removed the post that so enraged Dr Doog. The fact the comments were correct is beside the point. Criticising Momentum is not allowed on here.

Have a word. No one told you to delete it and there was no reason to delete it. It now sounds like you have created the perfect chance to post something that isn't true.

You can criticise Labour, Momentum, Corbyn all you want, no one is going to stop you doing that. What you have to accept is you are posting on a forum that a high % has a different polictical view than yourself so you are not going to get loads nodding along with you on the matter. It's like registering on a WBA forum and trying to get them to agree with you on how great Wolves are.

(Although not many on here actually support Corbyn and a lot of usual Labour voters are not voting for them)

Frank you are making yourself look a little silly and it isn't needed. Deleting the post was overkill. All you need to do to be absolutely ironclad is attribute (posting the link is the neatest way to do this).

As I said in my responses to Dr Doog I don't for one second think the BBC would be even vaguely interested at our level.

For the avoidance of doubt none of this has had anything to do with the content of the post at all. It is purely to do with its provenance. Jesus, I spend two posts defending your right to post it and you have a bloody hissy fit.

Frank theres plenty in this thread who don't like Corbyn, it's a bit bizarre to equate everyone on here with momentum. I was a member of the labour party for 19 years, but left last year after Corbyn's behaviour and attitude during the referendum. The man is clearly incompetent, but trying him to paint him as dodgy or dishonest is not the way to attack him - those are two things he clearly is not.

There's me thinking Paddy had just been sticking up for your right to post that. Silly me.

You could start a separate thread with a poll if you like, ask how many people on here are currently planning to vote for a Corbyn-led Labour Party in 2020. I don't think you'll end up with the conclusion that he's exempt from criticism.

You can have my answer right now if you like - I voted Labour in 2001, 2005 and 2010, I think most people would consider me to be fairly left wing (which I don't mind, I suppose I am). Didn't vote for Ed and won't be voting for Jezza as it stands.

Paddy, is one of the good ones, Frank. He was sticking up for you. I was banned a short while ago, for telling a poster to stop creeping, using a playground expression instead of the word creeping. The same modus operandi as what just happened to you. A poster complains, but different to you, I got a 2 week ban. The reason given, was for continuous inflammatory language.
On my 2 week ban, I counted the times I had been insulted using swear words, racist, bigots, corrupt, thick ect. I have never asked the mods to ban another poster and I wouldn't. Not one poster has ever been reprimanded for insulting me and using inflammatory language and I wouldn't ask them to be either.
Paddy stuck up for me, when a poster continuously said I said I had recieved corrupt money. He alone said I had never said that. The poster still used the same term occasionly. I look at it now, it is because he is losing the debate and it his way of deflecting it.
There are definitely different rules for different posters on here. However, Paddy is usually there to keep things a little more balanced.
