I find this notion bizarre too. It's as though people are divorced from reality and only exist in some odd dream where if we don't spend stupid cash we don't succeed.I don’t know where this “£12-£25m isnt that much money” has come from, it absolutely is.
Particularly for a team who in recent history isn’t spending any money.
That's perfectly put.I don't think anybody is, but assuming the rumours are true we are paying finished product money for potential. The player from those 20 games isn't worth half of the amount supposedly involved based on those performances
25m is what we wouldnt budge from for Sanches wasnt it? So yeah , its a lot of money. But then so is 35m, but thats been done to death
For anyone who cares. Outside the superpowers, £25m is a lot of money. Comparing Trincao to Odegaard, similar fee but Odegaard already far more productive. Buendia is a massive overpayment (classic Villa, but they got £100m for Grealish so it’s to be expected) but at least he had pedigree and is performing for them.
Daka has had limited opportunities yet still has 9 goals.
That was pretty much confirmed weeks ago really. Expecting nothing else and have to hope for the following to ensure the season is a good one rather than drifting into the same level as last season.I've got a horrible sinking feeling that we're done, as far as major incomings go in this window.
What, Jinky having a sinking feeling? If he were a ship, he’d be the Titanic. That was pretty much confirmed weeks ago really.
Cheers for that, Jabba. But actually, I've been extremely positive about areas of the club where many others were not. Jose Sa & Bruno being the two topics of conversation that jump to mind. What, Jinky having a sinking feeling? If he were a ship, he’d be the Titanic.
Indeed. That was pretty much confirmed weeks ago really. Expecting nothing else and have to hope for the following to ensure the season is a good one rather than drifting into the same level as last season.
1) Neto comes back flying
2) Chiq hits the ground running and carries his form in Portugal over
3) We don't lose Neves for a long period through injury
4) Raul stays fit
5) Hwang gets back on the goal trail or Podence starts scoring in the League
Agree with all that, and I’d add ‘or Moutinho’ to the third bullet. If Trincao stepped up and gained some confidence in front of goal there would be more leeway for Chiq or Neto too. It was playful, mate.Cheers for that, Jabba. But actually, I've been extremely positive about areas of the club where many others were not. Jose Sa & Bruno being the two topics of conversation that jump to mind.
It also appears that I've been holding out hope on a big centre mid signing a lot longer than others, judging on the comments above. So I think you may well be wide of the mark with your snide remark.
