January 2020 transfer window

Just about every team in the league would be in a lot of trouble if their top 3 forwards were injured

That's not a reason not to have any cover what so ever. We are unfortunate Jota is injured at the moment, but we still need at least one versatile attacker.

Who plays up front for City if Aguero, Jesus and Sterling are all injured at the same time?

I think we will probably look at a player that can play through the middle or wide in a front 3, not really any point in singing someone who can only play as a central striker as they'll probably spend 90% of the time on the bench.
I would like us to go for Gerard Deulofeu, as I can see him fitting in to our front three very well. I still don't think he's reached his full potential over here and when I see the job that Nuno & the team have done with Adama, a player like Deulofeu could really flourish here. He was quite complimentary about us when they beat us in the league the other day too.

Completely realistic though, I imagine. He's a big player for Watford and they would ask for silly money and likely wouldn't let him go without a replacement lined up. Then there's the fact he's more or less a nailed on starter for them, but would rotate in and out for us.

City have Aguero and Jesus who can play as the central player and then Sterling, Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Sané who can play wide.

I'm not expecting that level of options but Neto while promising is still quite raw but he's having to start because of Jotas injury and we have no options to come in if we get 1 injury let alone 3, the options we have now are not enough.

No, they're not. But the point was 'we'd be screwed if Adama and Raul also got injured'. Well yeah, like literally everyone would be with that level of unavailability at the same time in the same position.

I'd be happy with getting Jota back and one signing who can play as a wide attacker or through the middle, as long as they're of high enough quality to contribute straight away.

The Cutrone situation is so frustrating, on paper he was perfect, very talented but young player who could be the ideal understudy to Raul, coming off the bench and playing the odd game in his place with the view to him being first choice in the future. But it just hasn’t worked out for whatever reason and I don’t think we’ll get a replacement in so fingers crossed Raul stays healthy.

I agree and disagree. It is hugely frustrating. He's obviously very talented and I think he will go on to have a good career. However, I don't think he was the ideal understudy to Raul, I think they are very different players. I think of Cutrone as more in the Afobe mould (which we'll all agree probably doesn't really work in Nuno's system) than the Raul one. He's generally more of a 'finisher' than someone to get involved in the build-up. I would have liked to see more of him though.

We HAVE to sign a replacement for Cutrone, we can't play another 25 games or so with just Raul, but yes we will really struggle to get a player of the quality we want who is happy to be 2nd choice. As they'd prefer to be 1st choice elsewhere.

Unless we break the bank and sign someone better than Raul (which isn't going to happen).

That's a great deal for us. I wasn't convinced they'd take the option up. £30m for Cav and Costa is tremendous work.

Love Cav, but this is good business for us!

No FFP excuses from the fans now then with a £30m injection to offset spending

Why did Fulham choose to make the signing permanent now? The loan was until the end of the season. Could we have asked them to?

They only had an agreed fee, it wasn't a nailed down deal. Same as us with Jonny 12 months ago.

£30m for Cav and Costa is just excellent business for us. Now let's spend it
