I stopped reading this thread about 5-6 pages ago, thought I'd look in to see if there was any actual useful input. Pavs post was interesting.

I spoke to an ex of mine last night, who for clarities sake, is of indian decent, raised in germany and happens to be a "live" reporter for Al Jazeera.
She says they have analysed the footage they recorded of the rocket that hit the car park of the hospital, and their experts are clear that it was a rocket, one among a bunch, fired by al jihad, or whatever they are called, that appeared to malfunction in mid flight, made an abrupt turn and crashed into the hospital car park.
She says the crews on the ground, say it was cleary not munitions from an israeli
Plane or artillery piece, as they have seen thousands of these, and crew who managed to get to the site say the crater was minimal and equally nowhere near the hole israeli munitions leave behind.
She has no reason to bullshit, especially not to me, and actually when not being unbiased for her job is pro palestinian.
So, i'll take that over TWF unconfirmed opinions from some, all day, everyday

Nothing new here is there? I thought this was what the general consensus was on this for the last day or so? It certainly was mine.

I've found @geoconfirmed on Twitter to be a good, reliable source generally.

Just watching CNN, a bomb has been dropped in gaza city and they are showing footage of people being rushed to hospital.
No correct that, they are showing footage of children being rushed to hospital.
This has to stop now!

My bad, i had just watched the footage of the kids being rushed to hospital, so my sense of humour had deserted me.

Maybe they can't be arsed? If you think this conflict started on October 7th then there's no point discussing it with you.

"a statement released on social media today by the Centre, revealed that 58-year-old had cancelled the performance due to "increased personal threats" due to the Israel-Hamas war."

Do you really think I'm stupid enough to believe the entire Israeli-Palestinian conflict started this month 😅

This particular conflict, the Israel-Hamas War, started then. It may all be one, homogenous conflict to you, I guarantee it isn't to the Jewish community.

BTW I explained all this in a post on Saturday, but I guess all the know it alls on here found it too tedious to read

Police saying nothing has been reported to them so wonder what the threats were or if he really just couldn't be arsed to travel to MD this evening.

Would I have been speaking 'on behalf' of millions of Americans to say that 9/11 was a huge, tragic event in the collective psyche of that nation? Or would I just be pointing out what was obvious to anyone listening to Americans speak in the days after it happened?
 
I don't believe for a second that this conflict started on october 7th, but i do believe that the horrific events that took place on that horrid day, have irreversibly changed the way people, especially the israelis/jews view it, and that theres no going back, ever, to how it was, even 20 days ago.
As such, i believe a totally radical new stance has to be taken over Gaza.
For my mind, a ruling group has to be formed temporarily from amongst the interested players, to run gaza for maybe a year, two years.
Players like jordan, quatar, morroco, the west bank, as well as israel, usa, and france, just off the top of my head.
There needs to be a multi national police force, (like UN peacekeepers but not including israelis) from those countries, and the job of the whole group is to rebuild gaza and slowly put in place the mechanism for open elections, and the full creation of a state of gaza.

Hamas has to be totally out of this and that to my mind is the real problem in all of this.
They cannot be allowed to take any part in this creation of a viable state of gaza, and the group formed have to deal with that.
It ain't easy, but the objective of creating and rebuilding an independant state of gaza and free and open elections within two years or so has to be made clear from day one to show the residents of gaza what is there for them as a future.
My first job after creating a real state electric power system, (obviously climate friendly), and a fresh water system, perhaps including de salination plants on the coast,
and then theres the tunnels.
They are the symbol of hamas power, and where all the money has gone,
,since 2006, as well as on weapons, and they need to be found, and filled in.

So a piece of piss eh? Well it might be a shit idea, but it is at least an idea, with hope for a future for gaza and the palestinians, and peace for the israelis.

You're not comparing apples with apples there though are you PK

9/11 was the first time mainland America had ever been attacked, literally ever, it wasn't part of a long running war/feud/dispute with the Taliban that had gone on for decades.

Israel has come under attack literally hundreds of times (as has Gaza), and you suggested that all Jews would all see this as a new dawn, a new day, a new conflict as if nothing had happened before.
