Israel-Palestine

I think the last two posts sum things up. On the one side you have a Government fairly indiscriminate in how it attacks and who it damages, on the other you have savages with zero compassion. Both dehumanise people. Contextualy how we got here is pretty irrelevant imo, the little lad shaking doesn't care and neither did the 6 year old girl watching her parents have their eyes cut out. That's the reality of today and I don't see how you fix it.

Have to be on something to do that to a family, surely?

I can understand (not accept) executing (murdering) unarmed innocent people.
I can understand torturing enemy forces to obtain information (not necessarily condone it).
But cannot understand torturing ordinary families for pleasure.
That is inexcusable and inhumane.

I don't want my PM to want either side to win.
100% agreed.

Winning is a bollocks concept. It also implies taking sides which I don’t believe the UK should be.

Rish! should be calling for a resolution that sees Hamas emasculated, Palestinian land rights recognised and Netanyahu winding his neck in. Israel winning means the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.

In the eyes of Netanyahu “winning” is the annihilation of the Palestinian people. In the eyes of Hamas “winning” is wiping Israel off the map.

Winning for either would not be a good thing.

The support for Israel line from the UK and US is pretty much...Israel has a right to self-defence, take back hostages and deter further incursions. The odd 'in line with international law' hint too.

How that aligns with what Netanyahu wants to push for remains to be seen

Like a lot of 'things', this is all getting too much for me.
Just another 'thing' that I cant control, dont own, can't escape, cant affect.
Sometimes I wonder what's the next 'thing'?
Does anyone else feel the same?

The thing to keep in mind is that, almost unbelievably, we still live in the most peaceful time in human history.

Saying “we want you to win” to Netanyahu is pretty clear

Wow, I am quite astounded at the negativity my posts have elicited. But then they were not supposed to make people like me. People: I loath Hamas and I also loath people killing people over religious ideology.
At least it looks like the Tories are taking a bit of a kicking in the elections tonight.
