Good people of Britain...........PANIC

Yep a few inches on the gardens here in Newport too, roads and footpaths are just wet though so shouldn't be any issues traffic wise.
You'd think that, although my sons school have closed this morning (only one in the area) - said they'll look at potentially opening at 1pm - what's the point?

So any poor kids in the area miss out on what could be their only hot meal of the day? :(

I get your point, but if they're opening at 1 they won't be putting lunch on

So I didn't get your point lol

Yeah, it's ridiculous. Do it at 1, don't have to pay the cooks for the day. The woman who does the cooking at the school is a friend of mine and lives 5 min walk from the school, they could easily say if the kids need lunch they can come in early

Was peeing down in Bridgnorth last night when I went to bed, woke this morning to a good covering of snow and it was still falling heavily. Got the broom out to clear the snow off the car and drive and set off for Wolves. Had a nice walk around West Park before hitting the office, was a proper winter wonderland!

Well we had a brilliant morning on the granddaughters school run, snowball fights, built a snowman (and snowdog), bit of sledging (sledding?).
Lilleshall primary was open as normal, as are all the local schools in and around Newport. No woke nonsense in our middle class area😁

Were the roads OK over there? Supposed to have training at Lilleshall this evening

I’ve had some good fun with some people on Facebook today. You know the ones….they walked to school in 10 foot snowdrifts, fancy closing the schools today for no reason, snowflakes today can’t even walk etc etc

I just reply back:-

“When I was young, I walked 43 miles home from school through the snow in my bare feet, huddled inside my clothes made out of old sacks.

We didn't have any TV or shoes or bedclothes. We made our own fun in those days.

In the good old days, you could get a tram into town, buy three new suits and an overcoat, four pairs of good boots, go and see George Formby at the Palace Theatre, get blind drunk, have some steak and chips, a bunch of bananas and three stones of monkey nuts and still have change out of a farthing.

We'd lots of things in those days they haven’t got today - rickets, diphtheria, Hitler - and my, we did look well going to school with no backside in our trousers and our heads painted purple because we had ringworm.

They don't know they're born today!!!”

It sends them insane. No sense of humour 😄

Well this wasn't forecast overnight, highly suspect my pupils test this morning won't go ahead

Kids and grandkids schools are shut, but eldest daughter works at a school which is about 300 yards from grandkids and it's open, go figure.

Weekend temps set to be 14C. Crazy stuff.

Think its set to get cold again after the weekend?

Just been for my lunchtime walk up the lanes and almost went arse over tit several times as it was so icy in places
