Our first game back so hadn't seen the lads in a couple of months. It's Wolves, it's the pub, it's your mates. What more do you want. That was a pretty brutal day and can recall being out for a couple of hours mid-afternoon. That peak though came in the middle of a warm spell that just went on and on and on. By the time it hit that height it didn’t really feel any different to anything 30+ or thereabout. Most people were already flagging and long since made adjustments where they could, and those that loved it were still out in the parks lapping it up.
Seem to recall though a couple of floor fans just about keeping it bearable and will dig those out of the loft. I don’t mind a bit of heat but dripping with sweat when you are stood still doing nothing, having a shower to cool down and sweating again before you’ve even dried off ain’t no fun at all. Looks like we’re heading that way again next week and good luck to anyone having to work in that.
Had to leave the pub well before kick off and just go to the ground, was simply unbearable. I dread to think what the indoor temperature was in there, they limited numbers, had whatever A/C they have running, doors open...but it wasn't possible to stay any longer.
