General Wolves News

Wolves now proposing to credit Olympiacos home tickets as against domestic cup games.

For me, this is nonsense. Absolutely no reason they shouldn’t be capable of being credited against a league game.

There is no comparison between an early round of the League / FA Cup and a Europa league last 16 game.

Chances are by the time you can use the credit we will be deep into the League Cup (presuming we win games of course)

Are they not offering a refund option this time? If not, that is poor

They don't have a choice legally even if they aren't making it public. I will be asking for my money back

They don't at all but just wondering if they have communicated Domestic Cup credit or refund or just the credit.
Can't see anything on Twitter or the website. Just that the award for esports player of the year has been won by the guy who plays esports

They offered a refund originally if you emailed to ask by a deadline. To be honest I forgot. Otherwise it was a credit against a European game. Failing that they have now said it’s a domestic cup game “to be used at the earliest opportunity”. I’m happy with a useful credit - I just don’t think a credit against a League Cup 2R game against Accrington (or whoever), is useful or comparable to the “product” that was purchased.

Lucky for you then that all the early League Cup games are this month and we're not allowed in...

You'll get your money back if you ask for it. I'm ok with letting it sit there and hope we get someone decent in the FA Cup (and we can go, obvs).

The normal ticket cost of an early league cup game compared to a European last sixteen tie is chalk and cheese. I’ll be asking for my money back.

They have said that if there is a price difference between the two they will allot the difference to your Wolves cash account. A refund was not offered at this point which is very poor.

The only way you can comparable though in Football is wait until we get a game that is close to a Europa Last 16 tie but at could be a while

Obviously you won't use for it for Rds 2, 3, 4 in the League Cup so by the time it can be used and we are still in the Cup, you are getting close to QF stages, so surely that is close to a game v Olympiakos? If we are knocked out early doors in the League Cup, then over to the FA Cup. If we get a L2 side and the prices are say £15, then surely the credit will just be deducted and then if we progress the rest off the next home tie. So could be 2 for 1 if we then get another lower league team.

Personally at this point, if I had taken the credit I would just be asking for money back as its likely to be January before it can be used and the pubs are open again

Apart from the lack of refund option, that seems fair.

Surely the club know their legal facts on this though. Just from a basic retail point - A product was sold and not received, so they have to refund if requested. Hoping people don't realise that is shitty

Not saying they would do this, but having sold 28,000 Olympiacos tickets, they could engineer a massive “attendance” at a less attractive League Cup fixture. They are also under no obligation to price that fixture differently. Effectively it’s a blank cheque.

Again - I’m not suggesting the club is up to anything nefarious, and cash flow is important to all businesses right now - it just comes across a bit penny pinching.

Side side point but relevant: Arsenal have said today they expect fans back in for their league fixture on October 3rd.

As a supporter who is currently holding a ticket credit of £34.5 resulting from our home fixture versus Olympiacos taking place without supporters present at Molineux, we would like to update you on the status of this credit as a result of the club not being involved in European competition for the 2020/21 season.

The credit will now be redeemable against domestic cup games at the earliest opportunity following the return of fans to Molineux. In the event that the value of tickets for this fixture is not comparable with the credit held, we will convert the remainder into Wolves Cash and add this to your Wolves Cash account.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and patience through this process.

This is poor communication and the person in charge of this needs not to be in charge of this again. We miss a Dalrymple style marketing man.

That's a bit too tin foil hat for me. I think it's just very poor comms from the club.

I agree. I don’t think this is what is happening at all, I’m just saying if you take what they are saying to the logical extreme - this is a possible effect. So by definition you are left at the mercy of their good faith - which I do believe they have but it doesn’t fit particularly well with consumer protection laws.

It seems like they are being dicks for no real reason. Out of the people who haven’t asked for refunds, the majority will be people who have every intention of going to more games moving forward (this is me). Of course there will be a small portion of people who forgot and have no intention of going to games again.

But if they just give me my money back, it avoids all this “they’re trying to rob me” chat and I will literally give it them back at the first opportunity. Whether that be LC, FA cup whatever, so they haven’t lost Anything. I’m sure the majority of fans are in this situation and will go to a game again, so just give people the opportunity to go to the game they want to rather than forcing people to go to the game of the clubs choice.

They're probably just relying on people being too lazy to sort it out (hi me). It is a bit shitty and as soon as we were out of Europe next season they should have issued refunds.

That's pretty poor. The day after the Sevilla game they should have emailed out saying 'your refund will be processed within 14 days, however if you decide to credit your ticket credit card account thing, we'll also give you an extra fiver/or donate to the foundation as a thankyou. Then they'd have got to keep the lion's share of the money, fans would've been happy, and it'd be some nice, cheap, good PR.

I've emailed asking for a refund. Post Dalrymple the clubs PR has taken a turn for the worse
