Review of measures taking place
· * Wolves listening to latest security advice and guidance
· * No specific football-related threat
· * Higher frequency of searches in place
Wolves have been in regular contact with West Midlands Police, the Football League and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the latest security advice and guidance following the tragic events in Paris.
Despite there being no specific intelligence of a heightened threat to Football League matches, supporters and club-related staff are being asked to be vigilant, understanding and patient of any enhanced security measures.
Wolves played away at Ipswich Town last weekend and took the opportunity to review measures, which were successfully implemented at other Football Stadium across the country.
Additional steps will include a higher frequency of bag / backpack searching at Saturday’s home game versus MK Dons (3pm).
Therefore, fans are being asked to avoid bringing bags with them to the game and to arrive in plenty of time to avoid any delays.
Steve Sutton, Wolves’ Facilities & Stadium Manager, said: “Although there is no specific football-related security threat, it’s sensible and prudent for us to put some additional measures in place.
“We’d like to thank both sets of fans in advance for their patience and understanding, particularly whilst we conduct higher frequency searching.
“We’d also like to advise supporters to avoid bringing bags with them to the game and to arrive in plenty of time for the 3pm kick-off.”
