General Wolves News

Not going to happen. Jez has said a lot of things are to blame for the bang average season but KJ ain't one of them.

Yeah, no other managers could possibly have avoided drawing so many games 0-0.

I'm more bothered that Jez knows fuck all about football and is running the entire show than his dubious choice of sponsor.

I take on board what's been said but I honestly never give the owner, the ceo, the sponsors much thought, we'll probably have a small conversion about 'the new shirt sponsor', 'Moxey pissing fans off again', 'any news on a new owner', but most of the the pre-match talk in the pub is about what the team did last week, what films we've been watching lateley and the latest Stuart Lee episode.

Ethics is always a subjective matter, I'm sure that people can easily identify with marked increase in Gambling and Money lending as a bad thing in society, choosing a shirt sponsor based on ethical grounds would be more difficult than simply observing their business sector.

As it is their APR is somewhat more affordable than your Wongas (over 4,000%) and when does an interest rate become acceptable?

All banks charge APR in some form and would this not upset Jews and Muslims following their religious teachings to the letter. Barclays sponsering the Premier league doesn't seem to attract too much attention.

If you don't like the shirts new sponsor then don't buy it, however, they have been sponsoring the stand with very little critisism.

I see this as a stick that people have picked up to beat Moxey and the club with rather than any genuine concern over moral wrongs of our new shirt sponsor

Whilst I would prefer a less contentious sponsor these are the sort of firms that are more likely to come forward given that an association with a well known club gives them a cache they aren't going to get in other ways.

At least the name spells out what they are - was listening to 'Money Box Live' on radio 4 last week & they had an item re firms offering Rent to Buy for domestic appliances which when you added on the finance costs & compulsory insurance/warranty meant thet the item would cost between 3 & 4 times normal retail (their int rates were not significantly better than the payday loan companies). None of the firms mentioned had names that told you what business they were in & not sure they would be any more ethically palatable

We're on Sky 16 times a season, so we should be quite an attractive proposition for a shirt sponsor...

Nail. Head. Hit.

Bollocks. If people have given their reasons for not wanting the new shirt sponsor you should give them the respect of accepting that rather than making up your own version of why they do not like the decision. It's pretty fucking rude tbh.

Don't start grouping me in with others. I didn't, to any degree, say I don't care about how Wolverhampton Wanderers conduct themselves in off-field matters. My main point was, that certainly from a fan point of view, football is very fickle. What's today's daily moan/grumble/issue will be forgotten tomorrow if the team start performing on the pitch and winning games of football. Anyone who disagrees with that is more than likely lying to themselves.

And considering less than 5% of the average Molineux attendance on matchday (and that's forgetting the thousands of other Wolves fans spread around the world who don't attend games week in week out) have signed the online petition so far, I'd argue that my "storm in a teacup" comment from earlier is pretty accurate about how the majority of the fanbase feel about this news.

I am with Jinky all the way on this. Whilst I have my personal principles I haven't waited for single principle of worth from football, so honestly if it makes my club successful, "666 the devil" will be fine with me, as long as the fucker pays up front.

It's a shirt, and the collar/neckline has much more importance that the prick who's name is on the front

So you are demanding that one person respects anothers right to believe what they want, whilst insulting in pretty derogatory language the other person for believing in something different.

Are you familiar with an Oxymoron?

If you can't understand the difference between the two posts then I'd refrain from posting if I were you, it makes you look a plum. (Did you see what I did there?)

This isn't true though, in Sheffield the Muslims of both Pakistan and Bangladeshi descent often trade houses entirely for cash outright, families will frequently be saving cash that a lot of other cultures put in the bank, because they don't agree with the idea of banks making money from interest for homing or some other instances that they deem unethical, frequently they will use and even loan money for business use, but when it comes to home owning they often pool the savings of multiple people to buy a home that is needed, and then they all keep tabs on who invested what and when that person has someone looking for money for houses there savings are returned.

Our house we were renting fairly near Bramall lane was put up for sale and a fair few of the neighbours were knocking on the door to ask what we wanted in cash for it, and then kept asking for the landlords number as wanted to avoid paying the housing estate firm anything and were after it for brothers, cousins, etc that were getting married.

Will they get Wolves into the prem?

If yes, then they can have interest rates of 10,000 percent, and a logo on my "Y" fronts, but of course, I am not holding my breath.

I really don't care, being a supposedly normal, politically correct , club has seriously fucked my match day libido!

well at least for an hour or so after the game.

Straight, no ice, no water cypro, is however , very grateful!

Couldn't give a monkeys about the owner or C.E.O situation, personally I would argue that Morgan has overall been a good owner by modern standards, and I don't get involved with moaning about Moxey as don't think many fans could give you even 10% of what he does on a week to week basis, that does not change my own personal dislike and disappointment with this sponsor deal. The shirt matter to me, I don't really care whats advertised around the ground too much, however what goes on the pitch is the representation of the club and it's history, and I don't want that tarring with business practises that I don't feel benefits our club brand or it's fans.

:icon_lol:

You would get more credit if -

A) your previous posts hadn't descended in to an anti-Moxey slur.

And B) you weren't so bloody angry and aggressive all the time.

My initial point stands - Wolves are top of the table 10 games in next season and no one gives a stuff about the sponsor.

If I clarified the Western Banking system which underpins the Capitalist Society we live in would it help. I understand that there is a Muslim friendly banking system as well as other forms of micro social-economic systems that exist alongside the accepted norm that may not charge APR, however, this would be incorrect in the generalist term that I used.

So you would turn a blind eye to other sponsors but not the club shirt, interesting ethical approach! Generally if you object on ethical grounds to a subject, its a out right objection with no qualifications
