General Wolves News

If Hoever isn't applying himself he will pay the price for it whether Bruno publicly flogged him or not.

KJ may respond positively to it but that doesn't mean it was the only thing he'd respond positively to, and it's just ridiculous to tear into a player like that after they've been injured FFS. Make your point but don't stick the kid's head on a pike to do it.

It's bordering on "play through the pain" shit and I won't stand for that nonsense, it helps nobody and distracts from real issues. We gave Saunders a bollocking for it when he did it to Sako; Lage hasn't earned so much credit that he can do it now without similar blowback.

Neto's new contract is basically protecting the investment, meaning we get max £££ when we eventually sell him.

We didn't really need to do that, he was already under contract until 2025.

Whether it's for time or money there's no reason not to sign him up for longer whilst he's willing to do so, IMO.

No, I'm delighted by it. Just the conspiracy of "it's just so we can sell him and spend it on eSports" or whatever doesn't stack up.
His agent has probably seen that Trincao is on £120 bags a week.

So might think it’s a good time to negotiate a deal for Neto who’s value, on that basis, will be £10 million bags a week.

I think he will be a very very good player, and I think I was on record with saying I would sign him at the time BUT no one was absolutely convinced we should at the time and I think another consideration on here was about if the budget was limited would we spend it on someone we weren't convinced would play all the time.

He's clearly fucking talented. Even just from snippets for us that was obvious.

I was in favour but mainly on the basis that I didn't think we could lose, unless he was a total waste of time like Cutrone then we'd get most or all of our money back, at very least.

It wasn't the no brainer it's now being painted as, also the Portuguese league is fucking shit.

You never , as a Manager , hang individual players out to dry in an interview . That's dreadful Management . Talk to them in private - and even then there is a right way and a wrong way to do it in private as well .

Why not? Managers have done it before, managers will do it in future. We're talking about highly paid and supposedly professional athletes here and you have no idea what Lage has done before. It all comes across as a bit of faux outrage from people looking to find something to criticise Lage on the back of 3 defeats.

If Hoever isn't pulling his weight, call him out on it. It's up to Hoever how he reacts, he can sulk or prove his manager wrong.

You can't have it both ways. "I picked him in spite of his shite attitude, and that's his fault"?

This from his presser today. Lage on Hoever and the youngsters after his rant the other day "The next day I spoke with Ki and the group. They understood my words. I want more everyday, that's the pressure. Come to training to grow up and improve. That's my philosophy."

People can bang on about it but none of us ( me included) know what is going on behind the scenes.

Great news on Pedro on his birthday. Ruben's birthday in 4 days......

The alternative was picking Jonny, who's fitness they were worried about.

I can't believe that he hasn't been spoken to about his training levels multiple times, and I've got no problem with him naming and shaming as a last resort to getting him to sort his shit out. Effort is the bare minimum, and this kid was so lazy he actually injured himself.

A voice of reason. Cut it out will you... :ROFLMAO:

On Vitinha, he didn’t do anything whilst he was here
to suggest we definitely should be signing him, particularly when he wasn’t going to start and we have a limited budget.

He looked like he had talent yes, but that isn’t enough. Trincao has talent, but still has 0 goal contributions in March and is going to cost us over £10m by the end of the season for the privilege.

He’s having a good season for one of the super powers in a shite league. For balance, Chiquinho was having a decent season for a minow and we’ve only paid £3m for him and the club have openly admitted he’s not first team ready.

Vitinha could become a world beater and we can feel we missed out. But we could have signed him and he could have stagnated on our bench and he may not have developed.

On the flip side he might just be thriving in a weak league for one of the best teams who have all the ball. He could quite easily come back to England and not be able to showcase his “talent” just like Trincao hasn’t been able to.
