Football Manager

Even though i'm doing gash this year i've still got a few of my younger players doing well enough to pick up the young player of the month awards, all 3 nominees for the January award were my players, got to take something as a silver lining. Hopefully they'll be happy to stay when i go down and they'll form a good base for a team to come back up.

My current centre half partnership cost me £3m. They're now worth £35m between them. I've got a conveyor belt of talent at centre half and centre mid.

Sack this crock o' shite, i'm going on holiday until the end of the season, it doesn't matter who i pick, what tactics i go for, how i send them out or what i tell them in the teamtalk they're just fucking spent. Every player on every team i come against is always one step ahead of what they're trying to do, they dally on the ball when they have 3 or 4 easy options on, they make rash decision at the back and the morale is fucked, i'm not wasting my time with this shit.

Maybe i should've taken Southampton up on their job offer in the summer when England poached their manager, they were 3rd last time i played them.

My defence is bloody brilliant to be fair, and I've got two world class defensive midfielders too. I'm playing a typical 4-5-1 now and we're destroying everybody at the moment.

5 across the center or a 4-2-3-1 with your two def mids also in? I just can't seem to score with a single striker. Or at least, often enough for my liking. My team consistently has 2-3x more goals than anyone else in the league (finished with 130 this season). I've also got 4 world class strikers so it's hard to leave em on the bench...

Same here. Finally seeing the fruits of my youth system. I got them all at 15/16/17 for whatever the cost of the release was and they're all ridiculous. Thinking of starting a formation with wing backs so I can make use of 3 centers (my fullbacks aren't quite as developed, though have equal potential). Same as my strikers, I've got so many good ones it's just hard to leave them idle. Maybe a 3-4-1-2, but I always seem to get burnt on that one.

Don't do it, you've come to far!

One defensive midfielder, and my previous DM who I raved about I now employ in a box to box role, and he's been immense so far this season. Two advanced wingers and then a poacher. My left back doesn't go forward too much, but my RB is set up to provide all my width down the right.

Fuck 'em, they've given up, they were always punching above their weight but i just used to send them out to 'play their game' and they'd end up picking up results, they've just bottled it this season though, people booting the ball all over the fucking shop, hesitating in promising positions and ruining everything decent.

My last game was against Newcastle, the team placed above me, my two fullbacks gave away a penalty each in the opening 15 minutes then when broke off a corner, 3 on 1, with a great chance to pinch a goal back, the left winger had the ball closing in on the box, 2 players to his right as the defender came to close him down and he just smashed it clean over the bar with 2 unmarked players strolling into the box. They're a joke.

In fairness, this sounds like something that would happen on my team, and they're brilliant.

The programmers at FM really need to get better at player assists.

Then go down, take your medicine, and come back with more money and a better chance. Swap your coaches, give your young players longer to develop and try again. If you go on holiday and they somehow stay up, all subsequent achievement will be tainted.

I'd just go ultra defensive, and play your fastet wingers, and your strongest target man, and make sure you've always got good set-piece takers and long thow specialists in for the rest of the season; your best chance of survival is going to be draws and the odd one nil win.

Try having a team meeting to try and raise morale, have you tried to get the players to just do simple things, short passes, nothing too fancy?

I surrendered to relegation well before Christmas but at least then they were trying, now i just couldn't give a fuck, if Steve Weaver keeps them up then fine, if they go down then it makes no difference whether i was on holiday or not, the few decent players i managed to sign have flopped terribly and given the kids absolutely no chance of making headway as a result. They dont want to make any more effort then neither do i, if i next season starts slowly and i get a decent job offer i'm out.

The team meetings dont do shit, i had a few earlier in the season where everyone went away happy and nothing improved, the last one i tried just turned into a slanging match and everyone went away pissed. My gameplan is already based round very simple, short passing but its all gone tits up, i've been playing that way for years so there isn't really potential in the squad to do anything else with them.

Fuck OFF chairman. I need the players you keep selling, bellsniff. How about a bit of gratitude?

Steve Weaver managed to find 3 more wins for Solihull Moors as i stropped off on holiday, wasn't enough to keep them up though and we finished with just Blues below us, they made it the whole season without getting a single win, quite the achievement.

Rot-Weiß still?

I've only had the board sell a player out from under me once, Morgan's been pretty ace. Barcelona offer $63m for my main AMC and I turned them down... they offered multiple times and I kept expecting the board to force the transfer, but they never did. Gotta be honest $63m was pretty hard to turn down though.

Second Season update

Well Ive won the League Cup with a Bjorn inspired victory over Southampton

Bjorn after spending 3 months injured is back in the goals, Wolves are currently 8th although Europa League is miles away for this season sadly. Hopeful to kick on next season and spend a few quid on the next step. Not over yet though.

Full season stats to come

We conceded twice! And bloody lost when it seemed I could have had the title sewn up by the end of January.

On course to win everything so far.

I bought a new graphics card as I couldn't play the game properly and haven't touched it since.

Rot-Weiß still?

Yep. Annoyed me more because I brought this kid right through from the youth team and the first decent offer we get, he goes. We have loads of cash in the bank too, I could have got a much better deal than he accepted. Anyway, 10 games left, we're two points clear of the bottom three. Hertha are looking like they might come down and their manager is getting loads of flak so I might try to head there.

Pretty sure winning the League Cup gives you an Europa League spot...
