First pre-season game, won 5-0 with a Bod hattrick. Oh, and Cav broke his leg and is out for 6 months.

Who got injured next?

I ended up getting promoted in my second season thanks to Assombalonga's 33 goals and a 4-1-2-2-1 formation that seems to work really well for me. Tom Caroll and Jack Price were fantastic in midfield with Saiss sitting deeper. 11 games into the new season it's going excellently, sitting on 18 points, we've managed to beat both Man Utd and Arsenal at home and draw with Liverpool but have suffered poor defeats to Villa and West Ham so it's a bit unpredicatable.

Assombalonga has only scored a couple and is now out for 5 months, I signed someone called Adalberto Penaranda from Watford whose stats are superb yet he only cost £350k which was really odd - he scored 4 goals in 2 games when Britt first got injured and is now out for 2 months himself. Sigh. I also got Helder Costa on a free in the summer after not having him last season because he didn't agree to a loan.
 
No other injuries thankfully! And we're absolutely smashing it at the moment. Mid February and on a run of 11 consecutive wins! Madness! Going to win the league at an absolute canter.

I'm struggling to get the loan players that's built on anywhere near affordable, and really annoyingly I'm struggling to shift batth/mason/Williams/Edwards/Wallace.

First time playing the full version instead of touch for all of 16, it's really good
 
1st season in the Prem and I finished 18th just a few points behind Southampton. Managed to survive the sack twice.

Lost a lot of my first team squad due to relegation clauses. Pretty much signed a whole new squad for life in the Championship again.
 
I've put some hours in this weekend :icon_lol:

Won the Championship with 108 points, was given a decent budget of about £20m & £120k per week extra. Star player was a young AM I got on loan from Ajax called Nouri, who hit double figures for goals and assists, and my inside forwards who were all rotated pretty much every game. Dicko took ages to warm up but finished really strongly ending up on twenty goals. Bod was fucking gash tbh.

Costa was good but they wanted far too much money for him, and then rather helpfully they offered him out for £1.5m after I was fucking skint, the fucking shit cunts. And then very late on in the window I was given more budget which I spent on a centre half, so my total net spend for the window was about £30m

Was pleased with the window though, and we had a really good season. We've got five games left and we've never been out of the top ten, even being as high as fifth on occasion, with some really impressive scalps along the way. A really tough finish though and with only four points separating 5th to 10th it could be anything tbf.

I'm playing a 4231, with attacking fullbacks (sometimes only one attacking depending on opposition wingers, inside forwards and a false nine (swap the false nine to a defensive forward away from home). One CM set to support and one to defend. Tactically generally I'm pushing up, closing down, high tempo, offside trap, and low crosses as none of my forwards are great in the air.

My signings are almost exclusively young, with only Mvilla over 25. Particularly recommended are Andrei Ivan, Morosini, Dueland and Mere, all of which are performing brilliantly in the top flight. This coming preseason will be quite a quiet one tbh. I'll try and get Tah in but he's gonna be £18m, and there's not much on the bosman market tbh, so it's going to be teenagers with an eye on the future and aim for 5th-7th with the lads I've got hopefully improving. The young lad I've got from Atleti looks like a cracking player so I'll probably move Dicko on and cope with him and Kuki, as I can't see me keeping three strikers happy
 
My copy landed on Friday but I've just set my game up, taken the Wolves job of course and will start to play later today. Want to take my time and get it right. The players don't look too bad stats wise though I've only looked at the key attacking players
 
Had a bit of a nostalgia kick this week being off work I'll at home, so downloaded CM01/02 and updated to Oct 2016 with our current squad. At the end of my first season and sitting in 3rd about 6 points behind Norwich and Newcastle with 7 games to go. Don't think I'm gonna get auto.

Costa is shite in this version of the game and he already has a transfer to Benfica (weirdly) arranged for the summer. Mason is a goal machine!

Where do you get the updates? I think Cm 01/02 was the best followed by 03/04

Download the game ISO file, mount and install.
Install the official SIGames patch.
Install the Tapani 2.21 patch.
Install the Oct 2016 Update.

There are guides to do it all on there, but make sure you do them in the order above.

There's also editors and scout programs on there but i didn't bother with those as it's cheating! I did look through the recommended players thread though...

Finished 5th in the end. Had a really shit spell where I was creating chances (with keepers annoyingly having 8/9 against me all the time) but conceding too many. I ended up editing my WIBWOB screens and that did the trick (4-3-1-2 formation all season). Pissed past Fulham 3-1/3-0 in the playoff semis, then beat Derby 1-0 in the final.
 
I think one of the bugs in this game is that it's a real bitch to sign players sometimes. The amount of knock backs I have stating "concerns about language and lifestyle" difficulties is unreal. Even from European born players.

Then you get pricks like Jenkinson who apparently "would find it very difficult to leave Arsenal" when I offer him a contract, but as soon as Everton are in for him he's off.
 
Just having the most ridiculous defensive run of games. 12 clean sheets in the first 16 games of the season, including the last 8 in a row. My defence is the best in the league with only 4 goals conceded and I've not conceded more than one goal in a game yet. 7 wins, 8 draws (6 of them 0-0s) and only 1 loss. My GK has the highest average rating in the league. I'm not scoring many either unfortunately but haven't needed to. Though I think I've fixed that by switching to short passing which has upped my shots on target in each game.

After a lot of messing about, finally got CM working on my MacBook.

Should be less intensive than playing the most recent FM anyway!
