Football Manager

Twenty years, this took! It in fact took until this season to win my first cup competition, despite winning the league six times in seven years.

Some things of note...

Messi is out of the game completely, Ronaldo is West Ham boss, Neymar failed in the Brazilian league.

Wolves are managed by Depor legend Sergio Gonzalez, with Ben Mee as DoF :icon_lol: . England are managed by Harry Maguire, who won the world cup in 2034.

Celtic have won every single league title. Wolves have spent five seasons in the premier league, being relegated 4 times.

Kevin Thelwell has been my DoF, since August 2028. Under his guidance we have finished: 3,5,1,1,1,1,2,1.

Christ - how do you find the time to get to season 2033 already? In my games it takes about 24 hours of game playing time to complete one season so you are looking at well over 400 hours at the game. That makes me look only mildly addicted to Skyrim.

440 hours. Though I don't often quit the game overnight tbf. I usually go on holiday between games outside the transfer window, so I can do a season in about ten hours tbh

Is your name Walter zenga?

So I finished 5th in my first season and lost the playoff final to Villa. In the summer Bright kicked off and went to Stoke, Iorfa kicked of and went to Leicester and then very bizarrely Mainz came in and offered £10m up front plus £6m in add ons for Bodvarsson. Seeing as he only scored 8 in 25 games I drove him to the airport myself and signed Assombalonga for £8m who, after scoring twice against me in the first game of the season now has 10 in 9 games for me. Still only 6th in the table though, Middlesborough and Brighton are steaming away at the top.

Managed to finish 2nd in my first season. Sold Iorfa for £10m to Southampton and Baath for £8m to Newcastle, both in January. I bought Carl Jenkinson for £4.5m and loaned a Southampton player to replace them. My 2 first signings managed to play really well. I bought John McGinn for £1m and he and Price were my two man midfield, keeping Saiss and Prince out of the team. Fede Vico was bought in on a free and played at ACM and scored 15 goals. Dicko scored 17 goals and Bod scored 14 goals. The only other player I bought was Martinez who managed to keep 15 clean sheets.

Roll on the Prem.

Got an annoying situation on my old FM game with Plymouth at the minute. Some Brazilian lad who I signed 4-5 seasons ago is coming to the end of his contract, originally hadn't been too fussed about it as he'd only ever really been backup. He's really come into his own this year though and was hesitant to extend as he's only on about 7k per week at the minute. Finally got him to agree new terms, about 700% payrise the little fuck, but now he's getting refused a work permit!

Don't think he's any chance of displacing his international teammate to get some caps before his deals up unfortunately. He is only a couple of months away from being able to apply for citizenship though so I think that's maybe my best chance of keeping him. Suppose I've just got to cross my fingers and hope Porto don't come in with a contract offer before it gets to that stage.

Just waiting to be sacked now. Played 14 games in the Prem and have taken two points. Just lost to Watford 5-0 and they are 18th.

FM17 being delivered on Friday, and now is a good time to retire from FM16, on July 11th 2038, having won the world cup with England, on top of every single trophy this season - CS, ESC, WCC, LC, FAC, PL, CL.

Total honours -

CL x3
PL x7
WCC x2
ESC x2
FAC x3
LC x2
CS x5

The best, most enjoyable and most challenging save I've had, right the way back to the Champ Man early days. It's quite emotional!

Bellface. FM17 is a lot better though when you get used to it. Except for set piece creation, it's fucking awful and tedious.
