I'm actually still playing my game from FM09. I'm sure my laptop would dir with the processing speed of FM18. Maybe I'll experiment with the demo...

Another advocate for FM09 - am playing on a save on there as we speak. Always say I'm not going to get the new version but always download it on release day and go back to 09 after a few weeks.

I always end up buying it but I’m playing each one less and less these days.

Likewise. I had 5 months over the summer with my partner overseas waiting for her UK partner visa....got through a good 4 or 5 seasons [emoji4] but now I've completely stopped again. This is probably the one version of FM that I'd now like to try with this Wolves squad, but I hope it doesn't require 4 hours of prep before games (I fear each version gets more complicated than the last).

CM0102 will still never be beaten! (though I am tempted to try this one with Wolves being so good as I've been given a free download code)

Definitely do it if it’s free! It should appeal to the mini-Pep in you

Had a quick go last night, looks decent enough. Jota is nowhere near as good as he should be though.

SOLD:

Doherty (£3m Celtic)
Marshall (£1.9m Boro)
Zyro (£2.6m Leeds)

BOUGHT:

Shani Tarashaj (£4.6m Everton)
Andrea Rispoli (£2.4m Palermo)
Patrick Kammerbauer (£225k Nurnberg)
George-Kevin Nkoudou (£3.1m)

Pre-season was OK but leaked goals more than I would have liked (Genk scored 2, Young boys scored 3 and Lausanne scored 4) but we scored quite a few. Really hard getting the players on side and they're not that impressed with me so i didn't expect much going into the opener against Boro.

It started well with Tarashaj volleying in a low right wing cross from Bright but we switched off twice ten minutes later for Assombalonga to equalise and two minutes later let him walk through us to put Boro in front. Turned attacking and seven minutes later Jota's brilliant run was finished off by Gibson for a fine own goal to bring it back level. Gave the team a much deserved bollocking at half time and we played loads better, still 2-2 though with 10 to go. Brought Leo on for Tarashaj and Prince on for Alf and it changed the game. Jota dropped one over the top for Leo to smash home on 82' and Nkoudou cut inside onto Douglas' through ball and found the far corner. Fucking top bantz.

Liking the game, plenty more player dynamics involved and more tactical input and match related player interaction really stands out.

I usually play the mobile version on the iPad but have just noticed there is FM Mobile & FM Touch for tablets. I guess FM Touch is more detailed than the mobile version as it's more expensive?

Touch is only for tablets I think. It is more graphically complex like the desktop version.

The new match screen is abhorrent. No idea why they see the need to continually change these parts of the game when they've worked perfectly for years.

The rest of the UI is absolutely fine, but the in-game stuff ruins it.

Not that it matters, as it's decided it doesn't want to work on my laptop.£38 down the pisser. Fucking wonderful.

Did you buy it on Steam mate? Under two hours play and you can refund it.

Nope, code from an external website so it's gone.

Why it can't run it I have no idea, as I have no interest in watching the shite 3D and the laptop will quite happily run more intensive stuff like Motorsport Manager.

Seemed to have got it back working after a complete wiping of everything Steam and SI related and a fresh install with all the graphics details turned down as low as possible.

Don’t forget it’s still only a Beta at the moment, SI could probably do with that feedback to be fair.

Defending on this is absolutely comical.

Playing with wing backs is a joke. Defensively they tuck into no-mans land so any winger has the entire channel to run to the byline.

Corners to the near post are never picked up. Turn and goal or block and rebound nearly every time. Just conceded 3 identical goals against BVB.

And the in-match UI is the biggest backward step I've come across on any game. It's unworkable. Beta or not, why this has been released to the public I do not know.

I wish I'd never bothered. 15 was great.

I like 15 and recently bought 17 (and got the updated players for the current Wolves team) but other than cosmetic differences and the increase in injury rates to 'players made of biscuits levels' I don't see the difference.

Don't think I'll bother with 18 after the carpeting its had in user reviews.

Wish I could get the current Wolves team in 15 as I'd just go back to that.

Haven’t really had time to play it much, about four games into the season, but first impressions aren’t that good.

The Medical Centre is a nice addition and the new scouting system will be good once a few minor errors are sorted and everybody gets used to the change.

I can forgive minor match engine issues too, but the current corner bug is too much of an issue for it to be playable seriously. The in-match UI is the biggest cock-up though, it makes matches a painful process. Why they've stuck options and shouts behind click walls I'll never know.

It's a shame you need a serious rig to play it with any sort of fluidity now too, as they've removed the proper 2D classic. 3D is awful to watch - it's no better than LMA 2004.
