No reason not to have a referendum then is there? Can we have one over here as well, please Enda?

I'd have one tomorrow if it was up to me. (You do know it's not up to me, don't you?) The sooner political discourse moves to something else, the better. But will you and your brethren accept a "yes" vote or will you carry on whining?

Presumably a referendum would be open to anyone legally resident in the UK, which would include 3 million immigrants from the EU - that's a whole load of votes in the yes box right there. In your words - chortle!

Yes indeed. In fact, really, the referendum should be translated into Polish and Romanian, so that all those Yes voters from the EU don't vote for some silly posh bigot by mistake.

A no vote sounds like a very expensive business too - I wonder which mugs will have to stump up for changing the passport system, rewriting all legislation, redoing all our borders points etc... Most fun of all, presumably we'll need a hard border between Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland. Some sort of wall, perhaps. That'll go down well.

Bring it on.

Don't worry about it, no one will get a referendum anyway. And even when we do over here, they make us keep voting until they get the answer they want with threats and bullying. See Treaty; Lisbon.

Has to be a UKIP mole in Brussels; this will have got them another couple of per cent at least.

Actually its because the economy did so well since 1995. I suppose if it wereent for Gideons appalling mismanagement we'd have had to pay even more.

Eh? Are you saying that Liam Byrne's note was just a hilarious jape and there really was Bazillions hidden under the carpet where only he knew?

Lets no rewrite history and say Labour did well with the books and that privitzation is just a Conservative thing.

I will agree with you on Gideon being a twat though.

PM demands talks over EU budget
Breaking news
Prime Minister David Cameron has demanded EU finance ministers meet for emergency talks over EU budget after UK was told it must pay extra £1.7bn.

Mr Cameron interrupted a meeting of EU leaders in Brussels to express dismay at the demand for the UK to pay extra into the EU's coffers on 1 December.

He told Commission boss Jose Manuel Barroso he had no idea of the impact of such things, Downing Street said.

And it was not just press or public opinion, it was about £2bn.

Cameron went onto say. "I don't care that our economy is growing at a faster rate then yours. We are currently increasing the deficit in paying down our debt so therefore the money isn't there to be paying any more into the EU coffers. So cancel the bill please and lets start to open discussions about letting less of your lot onto our shores."

Sounds like the EU are sending Cameron a lifeline.
They'll all have a get-together over dinner and a few bottles of £120 a time wine, agree to keep UK contributions as they were. Cameron comes out smelling of Roses, claiming he's won a tremendous victory to UKIP's detriment in the election. and it's 'as you were' fire up the gravy train, on with the Ingsoc.

Why do you think a hypercapitalist free trade area dediacted to the free movement of people and capital is in any way socialist?

D-Cam - I'm angry at the sudden presentation of a €2bn bill to the UK by the EU. It's an appalling way to behave and I won't be paying it on Dec 1st

Can I use that line if HMRC demand money from me to be paid in a short period time?

Are you a multinational corporation making millions in the UK? No? Then no, you can't.
