Farage Ltd and Similar Watch

MP has been photographed posing with a group of far-right activists, including individuals associated with anti-migrant protests and racist social media posts.

The image, leaked to Byline Times, shows the Reform UK leader and GB News presenter posing for pictures alongside extreme anti-migrant activists.

It was posted on Facebook on 18th December by Gareth Stone, an anti-migrant activist based in Hampshire who has taken part in recent protests supporting far-right activist Tommy Robinson in London.

Reform topping a YouGov poll now. I'm presuming the plan is to get the really unpopular stuff done early doors and then come the next election everything will be OK and they'll be able to sell an easier upcoming five years.

Failing that bin Starmer after three years and bring in someone with a bit of charisma. I’m looking at you Andy Burnham!

With you but YouGov is an established part of the free market right wing agenda that is educating us through the MSM. No surprises that it cultivates people who think about voting against their interests. IMHO.

Ultimately you can't fight Farage without fighting Brexit, and Starmer is shit fucking scared of going near it, and it just lets Farage's bullshit cut through completely unchallenged.

It's the Ming Vase bullshit again. I expected a cautious technocrat but fucking hell.

No chance that the USA are paying to have an airbase on the island hey Bob?

Not an Owen Jones fan at all but he was ahead of the game in 2011 and wrote a book about the demonisation of the working classes and why no longer portrayed as ‘salt of the earth’ but ‘scum of the earth’, and asks why the hatred of working-class people has become so socially acceptable?

Most Labour voters I know very much fit that professional, very-well-off, environmentally-conscious, sympathetic-yet-disparaging to the working-classes stereotype, very much creating that wedge the right are exploiting and Starmer and Co. need to look at who they’re appealing to because at the moment things are rapidly running away from them.

Anyway, on the silver bird tomorrow so got myself a bit of light reading…

I wasn't sure where to post this as there are several threads it could go on but you wrote something that fits in very well with my thoughts.

I've been thinking for some time about what's going on in the US/UK/Germany, whether it's worth the time and effort to write it here, and whether I actually have the intellect to express myself the way I'd like, but fuck it, I’ll give it a go.

I don’t really think it’s about right and left anymore, and it has not been for several years. It is about undemocratic authoritarianism verus democracy, oligarchy and neo-fascist Christian nationalism versus democratic liberalism. And the authoritarians are winning.
It probably started earlier, but I'll go back to the Brexit referendum, the dawn of Trump and the formation of the AfD. There was blatant propaganda in the event of Brexit and the dismissal of everything that counters the narrative, including facts, as lies. Trump coined the term "fake news" and in Germany a term that goes back to Nazism, “Lügenpresse”, became so widespread that it was voted "unword" of the year in 2014. Now in 2025, they have successfully planted so many doubts in the media and press that some can actually watch a video of Trump saying XYZ and dismiss it as fake, and pledges that come directly from the AfD election manifesto for example are called anti-AfD lies and propaganda.

It was only with the rise of ISIS and the further destabilization of the Middle East that increased immigration occurred in 2015. UKIP/Trump/AfD, like all good authoritarians, immediately took this opportunity to do what they always do - to tell people that their lives are the way they are because of immigration, with a senior AfD politician admitting that immigration, was great for them politically.
Over the past decade, while we've been arguing about misogyny, gay and trans rights, language use, they’ve successfully used the culture war to seize power in the U.S., to likely secure second place in the German elections, and to push the Tories so far to the right that they may as well merge with Reform at this point. All the while of course convincing a large part of voters that the cause of all their life struggles is immigration, equality, "woke culture" and in my opinion the main enemy of the oligarchy - the agencies of democratic government itself.

A considerable part of the working class in the US and Europe is now so convinced by the lies of the authoritarian oligarchy class that it has their best interests at heart, that they cannot even be bothered to read its manifestos, which across the board promise tax cuts for the rich/elimination of taxes and the complete tearing up of regulation and basic rights.
Their endgame is now playing out before our eyes with the richest "man” in the world, a private citizen and under no legal authority, literally dismantling government agencies, and shredding all last remnants of regulation to make himself and his cohorts even richer even faster.

The recent assassination of the United Healthcare CEO for a moment united the working class of the US on both the right and the left against an inherently insane and corrupt health care system that denies the basic right of health care to make even more money for the already rich. The vast majority of people want the same thing but improving people's lives and hopes for the future will only happen with some fundamental changes. At the moment, the democratic forces do not seem to offer much, except more of the same and copying some unsavoury bits from the enemy.

Actually no one’s going to read that, I should have just posted "wim fucked” instead.
