Farage Ltd and Similar Watch

Is fabricated rubbish spouted from rose tinted opticians without a clear grasp of why Brown was unelectable. Did all of you miss the rampant spending and Liam Byrne's note?

The 'vote for a pig in a red rosette' attitude displayed by many on here is as dangerous as Farage supporters are. I understand there are dyed in the wool socialists on here but let it go, the Luddites died over two centuries ago.

Liam Byrnes not was very much tongue in cheek, stupid though I agree. However people who think Labour are responsible solely for the deficit are on a different planet. There was something called a global economic crash that caused this, not labour. And before you say it was Labours deregulation of the financial services industry that contributed to is, you are correct, however the Tories wanted even less regulation.

Don't choke on your Dorset Cereals oat granola this morning when you see the results.

I wear what you would probably class as 'box frame glasses' (I'm not quite sure what that even means but I guess it means black, rectangular glasses??) I love a bit of granola and I voted both Green and Labour in the recent elections. I don't think that you and I are going to get on.

You cannot call CND a 'Communist Front', accurately.

It looks to me like there's a nuanced caveat in that. CND took hundreds of thousands in donations between the 1970s and mid 1980s which couldn't be traced back to any of the donors they named after their accounts were finally opened. Comrade John Cox was a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain throughout his time as chairman. It's no more or less disingenuous to call CND a communist front than it is to call UKIP a far right party.

Even today there are far left sympathisers in the European Commission. Barroso for instance is well known for his far left activities in his younger day.

You miss the point. Croxden and Trev are talking about privatization and the return to union controlled work places. That is a distant memory. My reference is to the Luddites who said the same thing when various technologies were introduced to improve quality. Oddly enough it is widely recognised this is a good thing. Progress it seems doesn't sit well with the Labour movement.

Liam Byrne is an objectionable individual who thought he was funny, about as funny as a holocaust joke at a bar mitzvah.

I agree with you about the deregulation bit, it should never happen and I don't understand the need for all politicians to sell their souls to the financial service.

Too many are presuming that those who voted UKIP will return to their usual party at the general election. This may not happen.

So what? 17% share (in uk local elections), coupled with our first past the post system will equate to fuck all MPs in a general election.

Even UKIP are planning to focus on only 20 seats. They are an irrelevance and would be even more so if the BBC and Sky didn't have 24 hour news channels to fill.

This sort of silly abuse is part of the reason why voters turned to UKIP.

But , if sluts really are half price at this place, can anyone tell me where the pub is please ? :)

True but they will also have to massively increase their share of the vote to make a real impact at the G.E. Based on the Councils, they would get 1 seat in Parliament.

UKIP may be many things, but they are not an irrelevance. Ignore them at your peril.

Mebership of the EU seems like a crazy, mixed up issue ? In France we have the far right getting the most votes and being anti EU and in Greece we have the same but with the far left.

I'm sure I caught the end of a news item last week where a 'hard left' UK Union Leader wanted us out of the EU ? Not neccessarily for the same reasons as UKIP but I think he was saying that the EU was great for big multi-billion pound businesses, but not so good for Socialists and the working classes in general, whom they will of course exploit to the max ? I totally agreed with him too.

Did anyone else see it who can elaborate on this please ?

I noticed in the local elections Princes End in Sandwell, an area I pass through at least twice a week went from Labour to Ukip.
A great deal of the electorate in that area are on benefits and now the West Midlands as a whole as gone Ukip in the Euro's, it just doesn't make sense unless most of it is born out of bigotry.
Talk about turkeys voting for christmas, you couldn't make it up.

There you have your answer.
