FA Cup Third Round Draw

It was the weekend after we beat Man Utd then drew with Liverpool, think West Ham bought about 5,000 that day.
Can see us taking a fair few to be honest then again won't be surprised if the prices are stupid.

Unless the prices are really stupid, then still likely to go (as I'm an OAP now get a deserved discount) - and as a 'local' game as far as here is concerned will probably still be cheaper than getting to a home game.

I'll probably venture out for this one to one of very few grounds yet to visit. Just hope it doesn't get pushed to a Sunday or daft kick off time.

Pain in the neck when that happens - Sky have messed up my possibles this month, but the London games are OK for me as have a half way house in N Surrey with family if needed

Orient are away so it'll definitely be Sat at 3. Have a few mates in the area and we should get 5/6k tickets, so if they are sub £30 I'll probably go.

Will be making the trip as long as it's on the Sat and not a silly o'clock k.o. time

Never been to The Boleyn so may be tempted to go before it gets knocked down

I've been once before and saw us lose 1-0. I couldn't tell you what year it was though or any other details about the game, my memory is shot these days!

Assuming the away fans still sit in the same spot you will want to avoid the 1st 10 or so rows as they’re below pitch level making for an awful view. I’ve only been once we lost 1-0, Sherringham scored the only goal after a colossal balls up from Joleon Lescott. It then proceeded to absolutely bucket it down monsoon style for the rest of the game.

Actually, that's a lie. I've been twice. My Dad took me to watch Sunderland's 5th Round replay there during their 1992 cup run. Sunderland won 3-2 and it's still one of my favourite games that I've been to despite Wolves not being involved. The atmosphere was amazing and the Sunderland fans went mental when the winner went in! I was only 11 and it was the first proper away atmosphere that I experienced. Sunderland fans can make one hell of a noise.

I went to a limp 2-0 defeat in the Prem on I think New Years Day. Quite a decent ground for atmosphere but shit for pre-match drinking.

We played them at Roker Park (29/2) the Saturday after that cup game (26/2) as I recall speaking to their fans who got back to Wearside at stupid o'clock in the morning.

I've been to West Ham twice. Once on the last day of the 1990 season when West Ham won 4-0. Liam Brady scored a cracker in his last ever game in League football which resulted in a pitch invasion and the game ended straight after the kick off. To their credit the Hammers fans on the pitch joined in with the chants of Stevie Bull must go to Italy. The other was the first home game West Ham had after Bobby Moore died and again much mutual respect from both sets of fans when a couple of Woives fans went onto pitch pre match to lay a wreath. Steve Bull upset the friendly atmosphere by putting us one up but I think we went onto lose 3-1.

I also remember we were the visitors to Upton Park soon after Bobby Moore past away in 93, and one of the Linthouse Wolves lads came on the centre circle to lay a wreath down. There is a little bit of respect between the two clubs because of that, mainly from the older generation.

If memory serves - in the Liam Brady game, Ally Robertson was on the bench for us. He hadn't played any games for us in 1990 but had we brought him on it would have meant he'd played in the Football League in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Should have given him a token couple of minutes.

Even though we lost it was party time in the away end.

'BULLYS GOING TO ITALY, BULLYS GOING TO ITALY NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA'

Do you remember the lass on the pitch on some blokes shoulders who obliged when the Wolves fans started chanting about showing us some parts of her anatomy?

Checking KUMB they are very pleased that they have drawn us as a cup game before the Boleyn goes, for exactly that reason.

Their moronic hooligan element aside, I have a lot of time for West Ham.

They are the definition of what you would call a 'proper football club' and they've had some wonderful players down the years.
