Would have won had Billy Dalglish not tested positive for Covid
It’ll be what brave effort and look how bad England played last night.

He just looks even slower than usual atm, not sure why.Does Kane not slow the play down for England ?
Maybe it's just his present form , but when the ball comes to him at the moment it's almost as if someone pressed the pause button . Seems to find it far too difficult to sort his feet out .
We need to see far more pace in the England attack if they are to progress deep into this tournament . The main reason that people were so praiseworthy of Saka was because of the runs that he kept making through midfield and beyond at pace - that's quite rare to see in an England shirt , but shouldn't be .
It's all a bit 2006 World Cup at the moment. Bags of talent all over the pitch but playing very stodgy football. Not conceding goals. Best player miles off his game.
Neither Portugal nor Germany are to be feared and that's who we'll probably get, but we should be playing a lot more expansively with this group of players.
You're right we did. We might not have conceded but we have played 3 teams we have far superior players than and any decent team is going to punish us.Pundits keep saying how well we're defending but I thought we looked all over the place when CZ put even a small amount of pressure on...mis controlling the ball, poor short passes etc.
Would need to be an unlikely set of results to get Portugal. They'd need to draw and Germany lose. It's all a bit 2006 World Cup at the moment. Bags of talent all over the pitch but playing very stodgy football. Not conceding goals. Best player miles off his game.

Tend to agree seems very much of doing just enough to get by currently.
Having said that I think France will want avoid coming to Wembley next week.
We’re protecting are weaknesses currently as opposed to playing to our strengths.
Whoever we get next Tuesday I fully expect a nervy tight game.
Or they both win tonight.Would need to be an unlikely set of results to get Portugal. They'd need to draw and Germany lose.
Kind of similar to Nuno then...Southgate isn't going to play expansive football. He says he wants it but never sets up in any way to do it. He's too conservative to take any handbrake off.
First time England have done that in a tournament since 1966 apparently.Top of the group, undefeated, 3 clean sheets.
Nice one - although the 66 team did include the world’s best goalkeeper (Banks), the world’s best defender (Moore) and the world’s best attacking midfielder (Charlton).First time England have done that in a tournament since 1966 apparently.
Will have to go off and google to see how you did in rest of that competition.....
