Euro 2020

If he goes back 5, he simply *has* to play Coads as the middle of a three, rather than shoe-horning someone like Stones or Maguire in to that role.

Central midfield looks a mess.

Assuming Maguire doesn't make the first game, he may go -

TAA-James-Coady-Stones-Chilwell
Walker would play RCH and James RWB imo

Pickford

Stones
Coady
Walker

Chilwell
Rice
James

Mount

Sancho
Kane
Foden

Pickford

James
Stones
Maguire
Shaw

Bellingham
Rice
Mount

Sancho
Kane
Foden

Pleased for Coady but he shouldn't be near the squad.
I think that depends on how he's going to play. If he's going to play a 3 then he's definitely worthy of his place and even a start. In a back 4 I agree

Pickford

Trippier Stones Maguire Shaw
Rice Mount Foden
Sancho Kane Grealish

This would be probably my team. Had Grealish not got injured he'd have to start imo, but not guarantees. Sancho finished the season quite well especially compared to Sterling/Rashford

If Maguire isn't fit he will - probably with 2 holding mids
I could cope with this. He'll play Rice with Philips or Henderson though unfortunately.

Stones Coady Maguire
TAA Mount Rice Saka
Sancho Kane Foden

If everyone is fit, I think he'll go:
Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire Chilwell
Rice Henderson
Mount
Sterling Kane Rashford

Against the better sides I'd go

Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire Chilwell
Rice Henderson
Mount
Foden Kane Grealish

and play Bellingham instead of a DM against Scotland and The Czechs

That’s the thing. If everybody is fit. I don’t think Maguire is particularly close. Henderson maybe.

If they aren't fit they shouldn't be going. It's a lesson we'll learn at some point. They are 2 of the first 5 names on his teamsheet though so he'll give them every chance.

I was talking about this earlier elsewhere. England have quite the record of taking injured players in hope and it fails. Keegan 1982, Robson 1986, Beckham, Rooney etc etc etc

Robson in 1990 too!

I’m happy with the options for all positions bar goalkeeper and centre half.

Not my preferred sides, just options.

4-3-3
Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire Shaw
Bellingham Rice Mount
Foden Kane Grealish

4-2-3-1
Henderson Rice
Sancho Mount Foden
Kane

3-4-3
