Sorry, but we are ugly - winning isn’t everything - a bit of style would be nice - time to let the handbrake off.

Feel so apathetic watching this ultra-cautious approach to the beautiful game.

Are you taking the piss?

Have a fucking word seriously.

We had plenty of balls into the box and chances to score today. Newcastle packed the box.

Can I recommend ice hockey or basketball of you want a thrill ride every game ??

I don’t think we’re that entertaining tbh. Might me an element of empty stadiums and me not being there so sat in my lounge.

Most of the footballing world think we’re “pragmatic” at best and dull at worst. Only on here you will tell you off for thinking it and tell you you should “find another hobby”, when obviosuly that isn’t possible...

Oh God. The forum is going to be vile for a few days.

Think they’re both really boring sports!

Were you entertained by that?
I was more bored by Newcastle having ten men behind the ball at all times than by anything we were doing.

We strung some lovely moves together, scored a cracking goal, and lost out to a soft free kick and a collective lack of concentration at the death. Such is life.

I don't agree with the OP, but in fairness the PL is marketed and hyped up as an ultra-entertaining thrill ride, hence them thinking they can charge £15 PPV

I don't think we're dull but there's definitely still an issue with us going forwards when we can't counter. I do think we're a bit rigid especially when Traore is playing and we really do lack bodies in the box. Podence is also an issue, he's great on the ball but he can't finish, he hasn't got the instinct of when to hit it and when to take an extra touch and a lot of chances drop to him. Our style generally leads to us not conceding a lot of goals but also not creating many clear cut chances either at the moment and also requires 100% concentration for the whole game as 1 goal conceded means we're dropping points.

I think as a fan not being at the game is definitely worse too, it's not fun watching the games on tv.

Knee-jerk reaction for me. Newcastle set up in an extremely defensive, negative way. It is hard to play thrilling football when you have to break down a team as umabitious as Bruce's side. Regardless of result, can you name a Newcastle game last year that was enjoyable to watch? The Toon fans I know would say there wasn't one.

Are we entertaining to watch for the neutral? Not really, I won't dispute that. The neutral will not find that much enjoyment in our games, we approach the first-half conservatively and typically manage the game excellently after we take the lead. Gets results though. Our record when it comes to dropping points once ahead is fantastic even after today. I'd be interested to see if these comments would still be here if we had seen the match out and not conceded.

There are issues we have with breaking these kind of sides down, but I don't think it is related to the entertainment factor in this instance. The way Newcastle play makes that very hard to do.

Worst thing is, cyber will be along in a minute telling us all we've never beaten them on a Sunday in October during a pink harvest moon in the third phase since 1263, and his crystal tea leaves in balls predicted this poor result

stop being a twat.I have behaved impeccably.

Plenty of opposition fans think we're the Portugese Burnley and are dull as ditchwater with negative tactics.

There's an element of truth to it for the neutral viewer as Nuno is very safety first.

I get the pragmatism but Newcastle were absolutely there for the taking and we didn't seem to go for it

Saiss wasn't needed to defend and it became clear our attacks down that side we're pointless.

Ait Nouri should have been given a chance rather than a like for like with Marcal

The less said about our defending of Newcastles goal the better

xG is just a stat but ours was 0.75

Would have posted the same if we’d won as it is been thus for a while.
