Derby 0 - Wolves 2 a five nil in all but the score tonight

Fucking hell some of that football was absolutely beautiful

Wasn't it just. Even with perennial low-to-middling expectations I'm won over in two games, we're gonna see some good shit this season.

My overriding concern is a clogger team ruining one of our players a la Zyro. I certainly wouldn't put it past Colin....

They don't get near us any more, it won't happen. :)

That touch from Bright to put Doherty in was a thing of beauty.

That back heel from Bright, wow! Why is it though that both games we have witnessed the sublime (Neves's cross field pass v Boro and Bright's back heel yesterday) only for fucking Doherty to be one the receiving end fluffing his lines!

To be fair to Doc, he gets shoved as he hits it.

Love that all started with Boly's flick pass over a Derby players head

Yeah I saw the full move in the highlights, what a goal that would've been!

Could've easily been more goals looking at those highlights, plenty of tidy football creating good chances but just a bit slack with the finishing.

Doherty did well to throw Carson with the eyes but skewed it badly wide off balance. Jota didn't do enough to make it awkward for Wisdom on the recover with his first chance and then a sloppy first touch after the one-two with Bonatini, who should've buried the rebound.

That one that Coady misjudged did look bad though! Far worse than the minor slip ups against Leicester and Boro, got proper caught under in this time like a Sunday League player this time.

Yeah the coady mistake was bad and then I didn't think Boly did enough to stop Russell getting the shot away. Other than that seriously impressive footage in those highlights

Mention to Ruddy too, on another day we leave there with a drae

Coady will have to learn how to deal with that.

The alternatives to him are Hause (when fit) who is also prone to that fault or Batth (or Bennett who don't think is an upgrade) who is less exposed, but has other limitations

I don't think it's really something to learn from as such.

Against Leicester I didn't really think it was a mistake, fairly high up the pitch and they went over the top to Vardy, far more esteemed centre halves than Coady been caught out by that in recent years. He was perhaps a little slow on the turn to react to it but got back and gave himself the opportunity for a lady ditch block at least though.

Against Boro I can only really remember him being rolled by Assombalonga that once, more or a lesson to be learnt there I think. Can get away with taking those chances a bit more playing in midfield, trying to get right or nick the ball ahead of the man but knowing there's still a defence behind if it goes wrong. He'll have to pick his moments better with no safety net behind him anymore.

The one Saturday was just poor judgement, tried to get there and beat the bounce but wound up woefully short and ended up caught underneath it in no-man's land. Perhaps another case of just not rushing in and opting to step back to keep himself in the game instead.

He was done by the high ball v Boro where Ruddy came out of his area to block

Yet another highlights package that hasn't shown Dicko's chance right at the end which was made by Cavaleiro.

For Ruddy's save, he'd get a right skating if he hadn't saved them. Food and drink for any keeper.

Yeah, probably. But then we've conceded ridiculous amounts of goals in the last two seasons that are directly down to shocking goalkeeping. Like, easily 20. Probably nearer 30. Just down to the keeper. It's nice to have a reassuring presence in there.

Right then, what's the record for longest period without conceding at the start of a season?

In recent times (if we're talking league only) we kept four straight clean sheets at the start of 1998/99. Won all those four games as well.

We then went on a run of 2 wins in 12 and sacked McGhee.

Not necessarily a run of shutouts but we only conceded three goals in our first eight league games under Ken in 2014/15. Then promptly let in 11 in the next four :icon_lol:

I'm thinking all time in the league, all clubs. 800 minutes? 900?
