My fear is that Hobbs is so obsessed with how "right" he got this appointment, he won't want to be seen as wrong and GON will continue to keep his job.
Time people started talking about Hobbs being at risk of losing his job. Apparently, he is responsible for our football, not just GON.

Just buying it in the summer or blowing it up before matches as well? Either way, yeah, sack him.

The new contract is probably a big factor. Yes there will be break clauses but they'll want to save face. He had 2 years remaining on his existing deal anyway so the extension was pointless.
Pointless is being kind; it was a miscarriage of logic.

Even without the shit second half of the season, you don’t go extending after one year. Stupid.

No Eze and Wharton has really fucked Gaz. No victory here and he needs to be gone imo.

Neither have been ruled out, Wharton was just precautionary so likely to play

Wharton has been playing injured all season, I’m sure I read he needs an op but they’re putting it off (which is bloody stupid if true).

Yeah apparently he has an ongoing groin issue that needs surgery.

Just pressure pressure isn't it .

And a late kick off as well .

At this stage you'd take any kind of a win .

Pressure has eased on Palace to an extent , wonder will that make a difference .

Yep. Massive moment in our season. They've got to step up.

I hope Neville is on co-comms, he's more knowledgeable (and therefore critical) than others.

Any press conference news today?

Team news: "Johnstone is fine for tomorrow. Mario has trained a couple days and we're hopeful he will be OK."

On Brighton draw: "A moment like that gives us some energy, it was a big response and a big point. We now have a big home game that will be difficult, but we take some energy, faith and belief into the game."

On Johnstone: "Him and Jose have both benefitted from the situation. He's trained well. Jose, since Sam has come in, has shown he isn't giving up. It's been really good for the group."

On Mateta: "Palace's direct style suits him, they use it well. He's difficult to get hold of and it will be a test. They create a lot of chances on the transition as well."

Belief in the squad: "The job of a player involves pressure. 10 games means nothing, we'll know where we are after 38. We have an opportunity to change where we are. The response at Brighton shows where we are and we need to maintain it."

Night game at Molineux: "We're going to attack it. It will be difficult, but the moment we get there we will give everything."

Formations: "We need to pick the best system for each game. You could see the difference in the second half at Brighton. We were very flexible last season and we'll continue to do that."

Big few games: "I look at the game tactically and emotionally and see which players can handle it best. The fact it's a big games doesn't change anything for me."

On the fans: "I don't want to keep asking too much of them, they're an incredible group. They show a fantastic understanding, they deserve and demand a certain level of performance. They are with us and we can feel it. It makes a huge difference to the players."

Writing another game off then with his 10 games mean nothing nonsense. It does if you are only on 2 or 3 points and need European form for the rest of the season just to stay up! Don’t forget we can write off another 8 games from that because they are top 8 sides and we shouldn’t expect anything.

Straight out negativity. Why mention anything about how “difficult” it’ll be.
