Semedo, Dawson, Bueno, RAN.
Andre, Doyle, J.Gomes
Sarabia, Cunha,

That is my team and I'm sticking to it 😆.
Andre and Jaoa can win the ball and give it Doyle who can find one of the three in front of him or one of the full backs.
It's a cunning plan, people might not think it's a very good plan, but it's better than no plan 😬

Tommy Doyle isn't very good. His passing range is exaggerated, he's slow, pretty immobile and whether by request or choice plays too deep, which negates the qualities he does have.

What he does do pretty well is retain possession, something Lemina and Gomes seem to have found alien this season.

None of our players are 'very' good. Some are good. Cunha is 'good'. Some are 'ok'. Some are poor.
I'd describe Doyle as 'fairly good' as opposed to say Forbs who on showings so far I'd describe as 'poor'.
But perhaps Forbs can become 'fairly good' and Doyle will become 'fairly poor'.
Some of them are very good one week and very poor the next. That is difficult to deal with. Some from one minute to the next.
José Sa I'm looking at you.🙄

The problem for Doyle is he likes to sit deep where he has time to play his passing game and has options ahead of him. If he’s going to play as one of our deepest midfielders he needs to be able to do the defensive bit as a priority and he can’t. If he’s played further forward the scope for his passing is more limited and we’ve got Cunha there as well.
That's the nail on the head for me, he's a shit Neves.

4/10 innit

I think it’s a fair comparison actually. Doyle is Neves with -15 on every stat.

Don't think Doyle is anywhere near the best option from our current line up of CMs but he is an excellent back up for when we get injuries and suspensions and also when we need to make changes for game management.
I'm terms of a more attacking minded and progressive passing CM he's the best one we've got. I don't see any reason he can't be played alongside a destroyer type as part of a balanced double pivot in a 4-2-3-1.

Wharton and Eze have both gone off injured for Palace already.

Still on for the Tommy Doyle, Will Hughes Spiderman meme

They're not overly confident either, particularly given their injuries.

This Palace match is getting more and more important by the hour almost , and with Palace's form over the last two matches coming at just the wrong time for O' Neil .
Mind you , Palace's profile even before Sunday was a lot better than ours . They had been conceding very little for a team down that far in the table .
Will a defeat here and a win over the Saints save O' Neil ?

Surely replacing your Manager just before the International break is the way to go if you have been putting feelers out .

It's Fulham , Bournemouth and Everton after that - nothing easy there , could lose all three easily .

If we lose on Saturday then he should be clearing his desk out on Sunday morning.

We wouldn't retain him (in spite of now winning 1 out of 20 games and being on 2 points from 10 games) for another week, then win, and then sack him, that would be perverse. Even for a club that employed Walter Zenga and Bruno Lage.

My fear is that Hobbs is so obsessed with how "right" he got this appointment, he won't want to be seen as wrong and GON will continue to keep his job.

The value of the asset that is a Premier League club versus a Championship one should over ride that . Fosun might not be overly interested in us as a Football Club , but they can count , and they can forecast in terms of value lost if we go down , whether we're playing Football or selling beans .

Because we shouldn't be at the bottom of the league we have the players to plug that gap. The club is still worth PL money because the money is in the bank. That's before you get your favourite agent to facilitate the sales

So why keep playing chicken with our status for 3-4 years and counting...

If they wanted to ensure we were a stable PL side (within reason, any club of our standing can chuck in a horror season) then it wouldn't cost them a lot of money out of their own pocket, it would more than anything require employing competent people at various levels of the club. But they don't.

You'd think with their outstanding counting abilities they'd tally up the number of left backs, centre halves and wide forwards that we own and think something is amiss here. But no.
