Crystal Palace (H) 11/5: Build-Up & Match Thread

There's only so much a coach can do to improve players, sooner or later they'll hit a limit of what they're capable of.

From what I've seen today there's been a lot more individual errors than systematic failings. Like the one Traore gave away just before the opener, the idea was alright with Lemina making the run past him on a Palace players blind side but Traore fucked the pass up and gave it away with Lemina then the wrong side of the ball. Players have to take responsibility for the execution and that was simple stuff rather than a manager asking for too much.

Similar with the RAN fuck up on the first goal, Wolves have been awful at defending those overlaps for ages but Toti actually covered the run outside well for a change and then RAN goes and fucks it up in a different way by showing Olise inside onto his stronger foot. That's amateur hour stuff from him.
And all that despite getting rid of that bag of sht Neves eh? Crazy.

Maybe but it's still to be seen. Everyone was raving about O'Neil before the injuries hit.
And yet here we are, largely fit, and we look to be wholly dependent on a moment of individual brilliance.

I know GON was screwed over by the board in January but our results since the Coventry match have been a disgrace, even taking the injuries into account.

This last 6-8 weeks will be what happens if we get unlucky with injuries early next season.

He’s just not the genius he was being made out to be.

Done a solid job, kept us away from relegation but plenty of worrying signs that we are reliant on individuals to score, we still can’t defend at all and he can’t change things in game either

Largely fit? Our best defender, our best keeper and our best forward player are all missing.

Playing an 8-0-2 formation and still getting battered. Embarrassing

Absolutely no-one taking responsibility in the box as Richards gets a free header... utter dirge defending again.

As someone on Twitter eloquently puts it. Most managers are only 8 games from the sack. Start next season badly and he will go. Not saying that will or won’t happen, but it’s the facts

I don’t agree on the defender and forward.

Quality isn’t a prerequisite for organization, in any case.

Fantastic cross from ran there, Doherty on the crossbar unfortunate

He’s earnt himself enough good will to get a full pre season and hopefully at least a squad nearer to what he feels it needs to look like.

Definitely doesn’t stop me worrying about what is to come however

I think we still concede both we’ve conceded and we coped pretty well in the autumn without Neto to.

You don't think Dawson is our best defender?
You don't think Neto is out best forward?
