Coronavirus

It was after the train to my station that had just bloody left :D

So yeah, my final matchday experience to date is sitting on my own in the Sunbeam nursing a brandy while waiting for the next one to turn up!

I didn't even know Mrs DW then let alone be going out with her but she knows full well that at very least the first one back properly is going to be a reet mess.

Good thing is if I go to hers afterwards now, I don't need a train, I can walk there...(whether she lets me in may be another matter)

Big thanks to whoever it was on here that posted the information that you can book your vaccination appointment online BEFORE you receive your invitation, on the proviso you meet the qualifyIng criteria AND know your NHS patient number.
Armed with that info and with my age group now included, just got online and booked Monday March 15th, and the second stabbing for June 1st.
Apologies if it’s a bit melodramatic, but I’m shocked at the sense of relief at just booking this - that really caught me off guard. And that’s from someone that’s had a relatively fortunate set of circumstances throughout this. For those of you hanging on, I can only imagine the relief when your time comes.
Just hang on in there guys.

I don't really give a shit about me, I'll be alright regardless. I'm 39, physically healthy, reasonably fit, if it hits me hard then I've got very unlucky somewhere and besides which, I don't do anything.

I just want my family and my girlfriend's family to be ok.

I've seen recent photos of you. I'd plough you like a field.........Oh sorry, you mean physically fit, sorry my bad :)

It wasn't the last train! If I'd known then it would be 12 months plus before going to a game again it may have been the last train though
I did get the last train that day (for me) - though as it's a 4 hr journey that was at 6.45 pm! Really should stop coming on the train & just take a block booking at the Premier Inn or Novotel & see if they will give me an extra discount. Though as a season to have to miss this was probably the one in the last 4 years.

Still when we are allowed to come back will have enough money (& I am sorry for those who have been seriously impacted financially with this) as haven't got anything to spend it on. Will just use it to drive up & book a decent hotel room & not just go for the cheapest (sorry Brittania, but you are not getting my custom)

Good to see more getting jabbed, but there is clearly a difference in rollout between areas as have a 66 yr old relative who still hasn't had a letter or contact from the GP (she is registered with one so they know she exists).

Well aye, lockdown has made me less Neil Ruddock and more Neil Finn.

I'm taken though I'm afraid.

Staffordshire has been very good at getting vaccinations done. 56 to 59 year olds could book online from Friday. Get my first one tomorrow, never looked forward to an appointment with a small prick so much in my life!

you can use the online system provided you meet the qualifying criteria without knowing your NHS number. The system will guide you through.

If your relative uses the gov.uk site they can book themselves in at their nearest vaccination centre. As above, they can do so without their NHS number.

Creation Festival postponed for a year, now May 2022. A shame but I knew it would be touch and go.

Unfortunately she's not on the internet & tends to listen to friends who have told her that if you phone on the NHS number then you end up with only the mass vaccination hub in Epsom (pretty sure that's not accurate though) when there is 1 more local. From where she is to Epsom racecourse by public transport would take all day (she doesn't drive).

One of my son's, who lives locally, has offered to drive her to wherever, but she keeps saying that she doesn't want to trouble him as he runs his own small business and like others has had a difficult year. Will keep trying to persuade.

Done the online check thing this morning as I found a letter with my NHS number on it.

There is a vaccination place about half a mile from my house and they offered me one over 30 miles away in York!

Will depend on who is running the centre and what it is being used for. My GP surgery is a 3 min walk away and they are doing vaccines but only for certain groups. Then we have the RJAH Hospital running various centres across the region and then another load done via the GP network link up.
MiL had her vaccine 7 miles away after getting her appointment request via text from the GP group. Mine on Saturday is 15 miles away as online I can only access the RJAH ones in my area via that method.

Take the York one and have a fun day out...

Could you not book it on tinternet for her? You just need her nhs number and you get a booking number. Easy to find her nhs number.

If she hasn't even had a letter yet I'd suspect she's somehow been overlooked. If I were her I'd phone the GP and ask how far behind the national rollout they are, or at least to confirm she's in the queue. She'll probably get a local appointment by return.

That's what I said to do, but can't force her to do anything really
