Coronavirus

All you kids (30-50) will have had your first jab by early May at this rate.....top work from all involved
I think they have known this was possible since the road map was announced and why they will resist pressure to bring it forward. Everyone over 18 will have been offered a vaccine 3 weeks before the 21st June. So as we come out of restrictions a high % of the nation has good protection as the numbers coming out for the 1st doses are higher than expected

Exactly. They finally appear to have learnt that you can't change things simply because you want to, you need to have a plan. It's taken a year but finally there is an actual plan. I can't help wondering if the absence of Cummins has been a key factor in this.

My mum had her jab a couple of weeks ago. But she's useless and didn't book her 2nd jab or remember if they gave her a date.

Will she need to ring and sort the next one out herself or just wait for them to contact her?

How did she get the 1st appointment?

MiL received her invite via text which didn't give the option to book a 2nd. She should get a text to book in the 2nd jab.

Its a lot better now with sites having the ability to book the 2nd jab or if its done via the online booking it auto books in your 2nd jab

She had a phone call the day before to tell her to go in for it.

I *think* the only time you have to book your 2nd appt is if you book online at one of the mass vac centres. Mine was through my GP and they just say they'll contact me when the next one is due.

They will do the same for the 2nd jab.

Just to be on safe side though, mark down when the 2nd jab needs to be done by and if nothing has come through a week before that date, then call. 2nd jab recalls are generally being done for the 11th week

Love the use of unexpected there. As if the success has even shocked the Tories..."da fuck did we pull this off!!"

The nurse that gave me my vaccine said that my GP would be in touch 4-11 weeks (yeah, I know) to arrange my 2nd shot.

Good news for the EU. They have approved the J&J Vaccine and they have something like 300m doses on order. As that one is a single dose vaccine, it should bring them back up to speed and start to match the UK and USA.

1st Dose Vaccine Stats in the UK

95% of over-80s
>100% of 75-79
96% of 70-74
89% of 65-69
69% of 60-64
19% of 18-59

Some high take up numbers there, especially with the Over 55's only starting this month

Interesting that over 100% of the 75-79 group have been done. Sure someone smarter than me (a 5 year old maybe) can explain that one.

People who've died since (not because of the vaccine, tin foilers)?

I dunno.
