Coronavirus

Simple fact

You can lock down China. As the populace are fucking terrified of state retribution if they fail to comply.

You try and lock down Italy. Chunks of the populace get out before the lock, as do any visitors from other countries.

You try and lock down UK. As Italy, but a load of times worse as "British stiff upper lip" kicks in and people keep going to work or school or university or the pub or the football. IE - its completely ineffective.

It's going to be very interesting to see the effect of Italy's lockdown and whether it gives their medical teams some respite.

We know the patterns now so if we time it right we can take the edge of the spike assuming Italy's lockdown has a noticeable effect

I still don't know how this will work going forward. Do we have one week of no lockdown followed by two weeks of lockdown to give the medical teams chance to catch up?

I'm not the Minister for Health so my information on that plan is rather scant. Saying that, I think Fat Alex would actually rather do pretty much bugger all (that costs anything) to mitigate and let that famous British stiff upper lip win out. But that is because he is an ignoramus.

My uncle in Italy said that when the lockdown story was leaked on Saturday and all the Southerners in the north started hitting the road back down, security facilities were set up in the train station for passengers to be checked as they exited. The Neapolitans in typical fashion were doing all they could to avoid the checkpoints and exit as quickly as possible, jumping walls and climbing through windows, etc. It was absolute chaos.

This is one of the reasons why the outbreak is so bad there, Italians just will not obey rules and instructions. Naples is the least European city in Europe.

My cousin has closed his dental studio and only dealing with emergencies and my other cousin is working from home rather than taking the boat to Naples. There has been one case so far on their island.

Very worrying times for Italy, its people, its economy and its future but they really don't help themselves sadly.

Can I get a consensus before I potentially go back to work tomorrow?

I was off sick last Wednesday pm and Thursday with a headache & feeling sick. Went in Friday as felt better, Sat was ok but Sun felt a bit tired and quickly got out of breath when playing in the garden with the kids

Monday woke up feeling rotten and coughed up green / yellow stuff so off work again, off today as feeling better but not great and still coughing a bit. It seems to have gone into my nose & sinuses. I've maybe had a very slight temperature but nothing unusual like sweating or shivering or anything

Normally I'd go back in tomorrow as I know I'm recovering and will be ok but in the current situation I'm not sure. Thoughts?

Green/Yellow lung butter is a chest infection.

What island are they on? Capri?

No, Procida, its next to Ischia

Blimey - that's a pretty tiny one isn't it! 2k across or something like that. I had heard of Capri and Ischia but every day is a school day.

Its the tiny one of the 3, more residential than touristy though it gets its share wondering the narrow streets and taking in the magnificent views of the Corricella. From my Uncle's roof terrace you look across the Bay of Naples with Vesuvius on the horizon

Same as Portugal. Quarantined people in the northern zones are treating it as paid leave from work. Going to coffees and pubs, walking around. Numbnuts, the whole lot o' them.

Nadine Dorries tests positive

The Times reports that Dorries has “met hundreds of people in parliament in the past week and attended a reception at No 10 with Boris Johnson”. She is said to be recovering. This is the first case of an MP testing positive and the news comes amid discussions over whether parliament should be temporarily shut down.

Surely to God they wouldn't shut it down. Imagine the optics of it. "we're all fucking off to protect ourselves and our families, the rest of you please carry on as normal"

Would anyone notice...

mrs jelly has long been convinced parliament will be the only place that does actually get shut down.

Boris does love time off and self isolation and at least this time he wouldnt have to do it in a freezer

Not sure what to make of all this.
1st off I have no doubt it's Man made by probably China, to destabilise the markets, and in general destabalise the west.
I am not usually a conspiracy Theorist, usually dismissing them as not jobs.

There is so much out there to read, some leading doctors are disagreeing.

One hand you have someone saying it's a lot worse than Flu.
Then you have some leading Doctors saying once you take into account the big death count in China globally you have a death rate of around %1.3 only just above Flu.

Once you remove those with underlying Conditions your at around.0.3%.

It's just hit the Costa Del Sol, 3 in Fuengirola and a few more in Benalmadena, and Torremolinos.

Obviously we are all worried for our Summer season there will be a lot of Buisinesses go to the wall if it stops people from travelling.
Tho we had a stag party from Glasgow Sunday, there flight was full.
My pal came back from Italy last week he was there on Business his flight was Empty only him on the Plane.

The issue is very much people dont get paid if you dont work, so when people have the symptoms they still go to work, the Flu Virus has been around so long we have evolved a level of resistance which is why not many people get Flu, the Common Cold is a different beast.

It's a scary time trying to investigate every claim, every article to see what's bullshit and what's not.

Stay clear and safe all

“No doubt” it is man made but no evidence to substantiate that other than “China”. Donald Trump would be proud of you...

NO DOUBT. END OF. READ IT ON TWITTER.
