Coronavirus

I’d say so but it won’t be yet. If anything I think it’s a sign that when it does finally restart we’ll still be under some form of restriction.

Like being played behind closed doors? :)

In neutral grounds so there are no gatherings outside the ground of the team playing at home like PSG did in the Champions League.

It won't happen until the burden on the NHS eases considerably. Are you really going to drag medical staff away from the crucial work they are doing to be at an event as a contingency in case a footballer suffers a serious injury?

I guess it depends on what kind of medical staff are required. I don't know, but I'd guess a specialist in football type injuries might not be a specialist in respiratory conditions

But absolutely, if there is any impact on the NHS then football can wait. I merely wanted to bring to attention that there might be football back on the agenda in the fullness of time. Timescales are obviously unknown and I don't think this will happen quickly but at least its a step in the right direction.

I'm bored shitless and would appreciate any break in routine.

Why not start football again (Premier, Europa, EFL etc) in March 2021 from the point where it was abandoned last month?

Easy.

Great idea but probably 50 clubs collapsing under a huge amount of debt after 12 months of no income

The social undistancers - Remove their eyes and slice their achilles tendons.

Not quite that simple as a large chunk of the league still somehow run at a loss.

Take away the income from those clubs and where does it leave them? Especially if Sky and BT start asking for rebates due to not being able to show anything, and therefore the TV money passed on would be lower (you don't get it until the end of the season, we took out a lending facility with Macquarie if you remember which is secured against future earnings in 2019/20).

Not to say that the PL can't help in any way. But it's not a bottomless pit of money.

If Ferguson thinks that then he shouldn't say it. Fuckwits will hear it and take the precautions even less seriously.

Im skeptical of any predictions based on models at this point, id suggest the govt are too by increasing the testing. Predictive models are great but you cant beat real data

absolutely, and the stats guys are saying we just don't have any, all the data is incomplete. no idea why Ferguson has said end of May, as you say it seems a little irresponsible

Some people are going to get hammered when the public enquiry happens.

Maybe they can hold an enquiry into why the supermarkets weren't enforcing social distancing during the 'toilet roll' and obsessive appearances at supermarket phase was in it's full throes. Better spending money on the NHS than wasting it on that.

We really do have some selfish twats in my area

"In Hampshire, officers and paramedics have told people to stick to physical distancing after three ambulances were called on a “selfish and avoidable deployment” to a man having a bad acid trip after a house party."

On the news last night police were called to a house party involving 25 people all “crammed into the same living room”.

Three ambulances for one man, how does that happen?

I's a fine gesture to reduce his wages by a million down to £2M a year. He'll survive ..
